We are moving from Arkansas to the Frisco area (Prosper), TX and wondering where to go for some peaceful waters and good wakeboarding. We spent every weekend at Lake Ouachita, in Arkansas, as were spoiled. I hear Ray Roberts is nice and we are also thinking Texoma. I don't mind driving a little bit to get to great waters that aren't too crowded.
Also, if anyone has a favorite launch they don't mind sharing, this would be extremely helpful. We really don't know where to start. We will spend the winter scoping out a good spot.
Thanks.

Texoma is not the answer for most days.

Were you an LSV I regularly saw on Ouachita?

Welcome to Texas... I hear Texoma is horrible. You will have Hidden Cove Marina in your back yard. THat is where we drop and is the more peaceful side of Lake Lewisville!

They are currently woking on a resturant there too!
We could use another Moomba on that lake... it is over run with Malibus :)

Thanks for all the information. KG, we did spend every weekend on Ouachita and did a lot of camping on islands as well. It was the best lake I have every been on and we used to put in mostly at the Spillway. We are finally moved into Prosper, TX and now deciding between Ray Roberts and Lake Lewisville. I though Texoma may have more coves, but from people here and others, I am hearing a lot of big boats and not many coves. Any suggestions on Ray Roberts vs Lewisville? We most enjoy wakeboarding and camping in areas where no one else is. This will be a challenge in the Dallas area! Thanks.
BTW - We will check out hidden cove. Looks like a very short drive.

a great place is lake murray. it is just south of ardmore. if you stay on the south end of the lake there are some great coves. probably one of the clearest lakes you will find in the area.

I haven't even heard of Lake Murray. Thanks for the suggestion. We will drive out there next weekend and check it out. Thanks gb12.
