Hi, I was wondering if anybody here has added an aftermarket bimini to a Moomba with the factory tower? If so, what brand/material.......and are you happy with it?

Thanks!

Tiltboy,

I currently have the damm windshield mounted bimini and hate it. To much pressure on the windshield.

I ordered a tower bimini from Skiers Choice on Monday. The price was not that bad.

Hope to have it in by Friday for the weekend. It's suppose to be over 100 this weekend here in Ok.

I will follow up on how the install goes.

Over the winter we added our bimini from skiers choice and was installed to our tower. Works great and I love it. keeps the driver (mostly me) out of the sun during the hot days. Makes the boat look good too.

qb12, I did not install the tower myself though i should have because i believe it would have been fairly simple. Wish i could help you more. There were the eyehooks drilled into the gunnel aft of the tower. and another eye on the front part of the tower. If that makes any sense to you.

stang, i have seen two different photos of the ones on the moomba, one which was attatched to the curved support pole and the other is on the lower bar that is on the tower. i hope it is the later.

thanks for your input.

Hey Doug, what kind of price did you get on your Tower Bimini? I asked a local dealer and they said $650. I thought that was HIGH!

My price i believe was like 575 but that was with a little haggling with the dealer. Yes its pricy but i believe it is worth it to have some shade in the hot summer sun.

tiltboy, it was $550 from the skiers choice. However it was the shipping that i was unaware of that shocked the crap out of me. $145.00.

Normally -everything that I have ordered from them was a set amt based on the price of the purchase.

Oh well, hopefully going to install it today. Let you know how it goes.

I will be selling my Moomba windshield mount. I would recommend it to anyone without the tower, or at least the old tower that they used. It is in great cond.

Well I the bimini installed on Saturday. In all it took me about 40 minutes. I would call it a 1 1/2 beer job.

But it rained all weekend so I was unable to get out and use it.

Awesome, do you like it better than your windshield mount? Glad to hear it was an eazy install

stang, I do like it better. The windshield mounted one worked fine. The only problem was that I have a new tower on a 02 boat. The people that owned the boat before me had it bank repo and they took the orig moomba tower off. they are different towers and with the windshield mounted bimini I had to remove the clip on the windshield on one side and remove the clip that is on the boat itself and then open it. It was just a pain in the rear.

The windshield bimini works fine if you don't have a tower.

It just stunk because we could not go out Saturday since my son had a football scrimmage and then it rained ALLLLLLLLL day Sunday. But the lakes really needed the rain.

Have a great day.

Hey guys, could either one of you post a picture or two of your tower bimini? I am curious about the mounts and how it looks. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks! :)

tiltboy, i will get one this weekend if I can remember to throw the digital in the boat.

I want to get a new photo of the boat. my old one with with the old moomba graphics and the old bimini. it really looks like a brand new boat with the changes.
