CLR worked great on cleaning water spots off the side of the boat but not so good on cleaning the lake scum (dried on 7 days) on the bottom of the boat. Does any one have any great ideas that do not require a lot of elbow grease?

Go to Walmart or your local boat dealer. Buy "Hull Cleaner". There are several brands available. This stuff works like magic. It is strong and made of acid, but really gets the scum off quickly. There is no scrubbing involved. I would wetting the boat before using it, and definitely wash the boat afterwards. This stuff can't be good for you wax job, but it will sure remove the scum.

I rub the boat down in the water and finish off before I leave the ramp. Well worth the time. I do not even drive the mile to the cabin. Get it off ASAP.
