Ballast-help!

I am a new member and i own a 2006 Moomba Mobius LS. The ballast completely full is not doing it for me. I need some help and input on Fat Sacs. Where to put them, how much weight can i have without sinking the boat, brand, size, etc. There is already little walking space with the engine in the middle so that is not a problem. any input greatly appreciated.

Is that with the 3 part ballast (2 under the seat and 1 in the locker), or just the single rear ballast? Only reason I ask is because I'm actually looking at purchasing the same boat, a 2006 mobius LS with the 3 part system and wake plate. I have been slightly concerned about the wake potential for boarding and surfing, so if you could provide any feedback I'd really appreciate it. The boat looks awesome, just want to ask someone who actually owns one what they think. I have been hind a supra DD and the wake seemed pretty good, but that was comparing it to my IO.

There is a 400lbs tank under the back seat. I wakeboard and wakesurf ALOT. Wakeboarding- If you get 5 people in it its not bad. Wakesurfing is terrible. I have an idea of what im going to do ballast wise. It is fixable... just stock isnt getting it done. Im going to add some major weight for wakesurfing but i can live with the wakeboard wake (but im going bigger anyway). I would get a Vdrive if you dont slolam ski. cant go back now but the DD is annoying. radio also has no AUX input. fyi

I have an '08 Mobius LS.
400 hard tank full, 400lb fat sac in front walk way, 750lb fat sac between engine and back seat (surf side), 400lb on seat (adjust accordingly), 750lb fat sac on side of engine (surf side) 2700 lbs total. Speed between 9.8-11.5 mph (adjust acordingly, style of board, wake preference, length, height, push, water conditions) no wake plate. Very surfable wave, still able to control boat with no problems (wife drives while we surf) but she is a great driver.

Some links to pictures when we only had 1900lbs of ballast. Wake now has more push, better length with the heavier weight. You don't have a lot of walk around space, but who cares when you are having fun on the lake with the family.

We went out this afternoon, water temp 70 and air temp was 68, did a few sets of slalom runs and surfed for a couple of hours on my new Byerly Volt. I was running a little slow (9.8-10 mph) to give the wave a little more push so I could get the feel of the Volt. I usually run on the low end of 11 mph which opens open the pocket and allows you to surf further back.
Here is a few updated pics from today behind our '08 LS, 2700lbs of ballast, as you can see the wave is decent and very surfable.

Some of the best riding the last couple of years, since the tubers have taken over our cove, have been when the temps drop into the 60-70 deg.

A little slower then the Triple X I have been riding. At first I had the two long fins in the foward position and the board was way loose (in a good way), then I put the two small fins in the foward positon and the two larger fins in the rear posistion and the board was on a rail and much slower. So I removed the smaller front fins and left the larger fins in rear dual set up and the board had tons of control, good speed, great pop, most of all I could move all around on the board and change the ride with out it pearling. I was impressed by the Volt and can't wait to get a better feel for it and dial the wave in that the board likes. Most of all I was impressed by how much the ride of the board changed by moving the fins around and can't wait to try some other fin set ups.

If you have the stock 11.75 x 12.5 (3) blade prop I would suggest you try the OJ 13X13 (4) blade prop. World of difference in take off (especially when loaded) and no vibration or growl. I would also recommend starting with a couple 750 lbs sacs, put them in an L shape between engine & seat and 1 surf side. This will make decent surfable wake with the hard tank filled. We surfed this set up the first year that we started surfing you can't go wrong. You can pick up a couple 750's and tsunami pump for $400 at wakemakers and I believe there is still a discount code for Moomba owners.

Im going with 2 750 Sumo sacs and a tsunami pump. puttin em on the sides of engine for wakeboarding, then L configuration for surfing. will the boat handle that weight fine with stock prop? (growling and vibration doesnt matter).

I have the OJ 13x13 4 blade prop. You do want to make sure your boat has the correct propeller for the weight and speed you are using it for. There is link that Engine Nut has posted to make sure you have the correct propeller for your needs.

heres an update:
two sumo sac 750s on either side of the engine comptmnt in my Direct Drive Mobius.

The wake is INSANE. the boat handles better, no growling, responsive, planing out, and it sits a little lower in the water

I actually love my boat again, for the first time in a long time. The wakeboard wake is perfect.

Absolutly, im not positive what the stock blade is as Moomba offers 4 props but, i would just lean towards any ACME prop. OJs are fine but i know the wakeboard prop is the growler.

need help. the stock on it right now is a 3 blade 13x11.5 OJ. i want to replace with an ACME but the 4 blade prop that i wwant to get by ACME for heavily loaded moombas is a 13x12.5.
How in the heck do i get that to fit??????

Uh, they are the same size. First number is diameter. A pitch change does not change the diameter. Do a little more research. Here's a good place to start:

Acme 209 - 13" diameter, 12.5 pitch, 1" shaft, left hand rotation, 4 blade... Should work.
