We're looking to step up to an Outback V....first Moomba for us!! How is the surfing with the standard Gravity III setup? What mods do you all recommend as far as ballast bags go?

Can't wait till next year!

Search the threads/posts from canucklehead as I think he is running the most ballast in that hull.

I had an 08 OBV (you should add your boat model & year to your signature), but I think this applies to the new generation ones, too. For the regular side, throw a 1,100 or 750 in the port locker, cut out the cooler and stick a 370 tube sac in there, fill up the center and put an IBS up front for the best wave. Wakeplate 3/4 to full up and anywhere from 9.5 to 11.0 mph.

Don't want all that hassle? You can surf an OBV with a 750 in the locker and the center full. Plate & speed as above.

Have fun & post up some pics.

great hull either the original version or the new body style.

weigh down the surf side rear locker and speed are keys to a good wave as mentioned above.

My 11 OBV is for sale. It already has all the above mentioned ballast

I'm going out today on my OBV... I will be running 750 in port locker, additional 750 on port side, IBS and Center bags filled. Should be smooth water so hopefully I can get a really good wave.

Deep water is key...Here's my wave...16247

750 rear, 750 on port side, 750 upfront with a extra 300 on the front side...
