Weight of 05 LSV Ballasts

Sorry about the dumb question - I should know this.

What is the weight for each sack for the stock 05 LSV ballasts? (for the stock 05 LSV ballasts)

I've heard anywhere from 450# - 650# for the front ballast. I Also hear different amounts on the rear sacks - probably because people have added aftermarket bags.

What got me thinking is a gallon of water weighs about 8 lb. so to get 650 lb. in that front locker it would take about 80 gallons. Thats a lot of water - is the sack really that big? In my mind I picture a 55 gallon drum - doesn't seem like they are that big even though that locker is chuck full...

I was told that each of the back ones is 250 lbs. As for the front the dealer said that to fill it until it opens the ski locker door. Depending on shape and placement of the bag in the front the weight can vary in between 400, and 500 lbs Hope this helps

I believe the official word from the factory was 250lbs each side and the center front bag is 400lbs. Total stock ballast = 900lbs.

400# keel sac and 277# each for the stern sacs = 677# total

400# keel sac and 277# each for the stern sacs = 677# total
