Speed. Watch how he carves the board into the wave when he charges from the back of the wave towards the boat. Then he rips it up the face and pops an ollie-type move on the lip. Then he throws his arms up in the air and brings his lead knee to his chest. Simple.

We had a lesson with Chase this summer before Nationals. He ran the girls thru the above and lets just put it this way: MUCH easier said than done!

That would be his new, still prototype, Liquid Force board. I got to check the board out with myself when he gave the girls lessons this summer. Very cool setup with the fin configuration and a channel in the nose that helps when he is riding revert.

loos like a kller shape. rever v concave in the nose it looked like. What boat? Great set up for sure. Id be interested in the board if it hit the market

The board was to have been released in July, but I think they are going to.continue to refine and release it in 2013.

We were on the Centurion but that vid is of a Tige on Lake Austin. He is now a team rider for Tige.

Nope, laws are the same - its only illegal if you get caught.

Chase surfs in the ocean all the time without a jacket so while not legal, nor what we teach our kids, I'm thinking he will be OK.

In OR the rider is considered to be "on the boat" and a jacket is required to be readily available. The debate with the LE officer would be over readily available. My guess is that the rider could not produce one quick enough to win the argument.
