Do you guys do anything about their claws and the vinyl?

Do you guys do anything about their claws and the vinyl?our black lab is less than 50 pounds, and the only thing we do is clip her nails a couple days before the weekend. No issues so far.

Oso <Bear> our 100lb Lab. Hes been on the boat since he was 4 months old. I trim his claws each time we go out, plus we lay towels down over the seats. The swim deck has taken the most wear and tear. My Sea Deck pad still looks good but its got some dog wear on it.

The guy I wakeboard with uses something like these for his golden: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753821
She sometimes manages to get them off, just depends on the dog I guess. They do the job though and when I get a dog I will likely get them too. Love the pics!

I forget sometimes how beautiful the Pacific Northwest is. Mike and the rest of you guys up there are lucky. Not saying I would want to move there, since family is here and I need my GA heat, but good Lord is it beautiful.

My labratard on the left - my brother's on the right. He only gets to go a couple times a year now since my interior is getting destroyed - mostly from him.

Waterbulldawg thanks man it sure is nice up here ill give ya that.
Oso is very well trained and is a great boat dog, you just have to understand he will be the first in the and last out of the water each day.
Ryan 8099, i have seen a better item wheres it like glue on nail protectors, i wouldnt put those mits on my dog, he cant spread his feet and swim when hes in the water. If you have a dog that isnt a water dog it would work but you also have to train them to use it. Naturally dogs dont like things on there paws.

Mike's got it covered! Same here just some scratches on the SeaDek. I've seen people out there with soft paws as well. Pretty cool idea! A cat got in my old boat after I did the interior and used it for a scratching post, now that's a motherf****r!!

Our boys love the boat. Six years and two Moombas and not a single vinyl issue due to them. Our lab can barely wait for the boat to stop before he's water bound.

Yeah, they're fun to play with and then give back! Plus I'd like to have nice carpet at least once in my life. I keep reminding the kids that they eventually grow up. They might play together a little but in the end it would be a 3rd dog following me everywhere and giving me those big sad eyes like "why can't we go play fetch now?" Two loyal worshiper/followers is really enough.

Have you met Fred? He is our 4yr old Bassett. He's not the biggest fan of cruising on the boat, but he prefers it much more than being left at home. We think the wind bothers his ears.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/09/11/emymurug.jpg

This is Dakota...he's my 7 year old Golden Retriever. He has never been on the boat. However at 90 pounds he might be good for some extra ballast! This is pretty much what he does all the time unless we are outside. He's been great with the kids and all he wants is someone to love on him...he's a big ol Teddy Bear.

Unbelievable. He looks just like one we had to put down a couple of month ago. Similar weight, same coloring, same color collar, and he was also a "big ol Teddy Bear" which was his name too. The gentelest soul I've come across.

Sorry to hear that you had to put him down. That's tough, been there done that before. His full name is Dakota Bear....His father was named Bear as well. My Aunt and Uncle in Missouri bred them for YEARS. Amazing dogs...
