I need to replace the gasket under my windshield on my 98 outback. Called the dealer in Phoenix and he said that they don't make them any more, so; has anyone used something else to go under there? Weather stripping or something similar? Thanks for the help.

You're probably going to have to fabricate something yourself. I think looking at weather stripping is probably a good idea. Another idea might be to visit a glass replacement company and see if they can look up and order something similar that would work. Good luck!

Go ahead and do what I did and buy the kit from Great Lakes Skipper for a Cobalt 196. It is everything you need and is way cheaper than pieceing it together. http://greatlakesskipper.com/product/9_363-boat-windshields-and-parts-accessories/6659-taylor-made-products-taylor-made-196-cobalt-boat-windshield-installation-kit.html
It has all the knobs, new screws, correct sized screw cover foam, gasket tape, bumpers, and bumper tips. You'll have extra of it all left over as well.
