So I usually just read on the forum ,and not post , but have to share a pucker moment from this weekend...We were out with friends and their kids...started out surfing...Filled the center 400lb bag, then filled the 750lb rear bag...my friend was out surfing for 15 mins, to when I noticed the wake really changed and the engine belt squelling...he fell, so when stopped ,I popped the engine hatch and noticed it was full of water almost to the lip of the floor, opened V-drive and of course full...so got life jackets on the kids and immediately headed to a private dock, bilge pump was already on and immediately hit empty on my pumps...started looking at hoses and clamp connections all was good...we dock for 10 mins and all water was drained from the boat...I then popped my rear locker with the 750 lb bag and noticed that the connection of the "Elbow" from the hose had popped off and the entire bag emptied into the engine compartment...Some how during one of my turns to pick up the surfer the bag must have rolled enough to created enough tension on the hose to pop off the fitting...so new project ..to lengthen my hose a few inches...But what a scare....we did finish off the day surfing and tubing for the kids....

Good thing you were paying attention! Biggest excitement we had this weekend was seeing a 2ft. water snake.

My hose pops off from time to time. I just watch for excessive bilge pump operation. Is your bilge not auto?

I had issues with the v drive fat sac fittings popping out. I think the engine heat can make it easy for the fittings to pop out.

I added some PVC glue to the fittings. No issues since.

Yup, regular inspections are a smart thing to do, even when everything is working properly.

The biggest thing I had this weekend is after 7 years my shaft stuffing cord started to leak. I saw the rear deck sitting lower than normal so I pumped out the water then and after each run I pumped some more. This boat is a PIA as I have to remove the engine cowling, remove the rear seat and rear padding and then remove the rear center floor. Then I need to adjust the nut and verify it on the water with the engine cowling off so I'll leave the board shorts at home.

I noticed some leaking from my prop shaft when I loaded up this past weekend. How difficult is this repair on an 05 lsv?
