Getting a new Impeller

Mine went out yesterday on the lake. Can't I got pick up a impeller at Napa or somewhere like that so I don't have to order it. It for a Indmar assault 325.

Where are you located? I know that the local boat dealers here have them in stock.

Maybe you have a local neighbor on the forum that can point you to a local source.

Went to napa at lunch and gave them the part number and they'll have it by this afternoon for me. It was alittle more expensive at $40 but they do have it just incase you can't wait to have it ordered.

Actually, $40 is about the going price for one with all of the seals in it.

Pulled the plate off and thought what do I do now. The impeller looked like it was in good shape. But since I already had a new one I decided to go ahead and change it since it's been in there for something like 3 years (I know I know). But after I finally got the old one out I realized the metal insert had seperated from the rubber and was just spining freely inside the impeller.15942

Yep, That happened to me last year. Now I carry one in the boat and will change it out on the lake. Not a problem. Makes me mad it separated

Have an extra one in the truck and simple way to save the day. I replace mine every year and keep the old one in the truck as a backup. It is a cheap part to replace every year.

I keep one in the glove box of my boat and tell all my friends to as well, along with a mini ratcheting wrench. I have only changed one in the water and it was on my friends X25 when it only had 10 hours on it, so you never know. Fortunately when he took delivery I talked the salesmen into giving us a spare! I thoroughly enjoyed a little wrench time on a new $100K boat!

Well I'm going to change mine every year from now on and thats a real good idea to keep the old one in the glove box thanks.

please forgive my ignorance but what part number did you give to the napa folks? I give them the oem part number and he keeps trying to sell me the whole pump for $351.00. Im wondering if I have the wrong part number or their cross reference is wrong.

I can't remember the last time I changed mine but there is a spline missing so I guess I will need to order another one for next year.

Based on how the pump creates pressure, I would recommend that you remove the impeller over the winter. The impeller puts pressure on the drive shaft and the seals. Install a new one at the beginning of the next season.
