First off its been quite a demanding month from WWA Nationals in Cincinnati to a competition in Branson Mo, then finishing the INT League tour in Garnett Ks, to the WWA Worlds in Pleasant Prairie Wi. Needless to say we are tired and looking forward to the month long break before INT Regionals in Hot Springs Ar.

I posted earlier about the Nationals and had plans to upload the good pics to the forum but the memory card has come up missing. I'm hoping to find it sooner or later but I fear it may have gotten left on the desk at the hotel or dropped somewhere.

Anyway, Tyler got 3rd at Worlds and he was so pumped to get on the podium. We took the conservative route with his run to ensure no falls but looking back now we should've added a little more tech to it. Oh well, you live and you learn. The level of competition was amazing. In the final, all of the kids stood up their runs which I'm sure made it difficult for the judges.

Now on to SUPRA and all of the Skiers Choice crew from Mr. Tinker, to Steve Harbaugh for answering all of my questions, the local dealer, the athletes, etc... Thank you for supporting the sport of wakeboarding! You all did an amazing job representing the SUPRA brand. The awards dinner was great and well done even with the crowd being larger than expected.

As for the SA, the boat amazing. Looks super sleek on the water. The interior is very spacious. I really like how they shortened the width of the seat back in the seat behind the driver. That really opened up the floor area. The bow area is huge. I even had a little debate when another person tried to tell me the boat has to be 24'. I still don't think he believed me when I told him its a 22 1/2' boat. The boat got out of the hole quite nicely and I was surprised at how sharp the drivers were turning at the end of the runs and not loosing too much speed. There were a few occasions when he turned really sharp and the engine would really rev but that wasn't the norm. Overall I was very impressed with the boat and really looking forward to a new dealer coming online soon in my area.

Awesome Todd, props to your son for sure!

So, with all the debate and whatnot regarding the G23 wake and the new Star wake....should the SA wake be brought into that conversation?

Awesome Todd, props to your son for sure!

So, with all the debate and whatnot regarding the G23 wake and the new Star wake....should the SA wake be brought into that conversation?

Yes. However, they are very different shaped wakes from very different shaped boats and everyone has there own preference. My son does NOT like an x-star wake nor does he like our LSV wake. He says the LSV is to abrupt and the x-star doesn't have a good lip at the top. He prefers the 210 or 230 but is absolutely scared to death of the g23 wake. Which is approx. mid-abdomen on him.

This weekend he rode the SA 450 @ 22.5 and 65' and his comments were " the wake is really good. It's very clean, has a fairly long transition and a nice lip at the top. He also said it felt similar to a stock ballast 230 wake only a little wider.

A couple of pros, (who shall remain nameless) said the wake was smaller than expected. With that said they also told me that they run so much weight in their boats (est. 7500lbs+people) that they have to move everyone to the front of the boat and still take the whole length of the lake and a turn to go back to get on plane.

I was also told by the SC mechanic who was maintaining the boats this weekend that the SA was running approx 5k +people. I'm sure the wake might be bigger if they added another 2500lbs but the boat might not get on plane on that small lake.

Another one of the pros says they get about 2.5hrs on a full tank of gas in a fully loaded g23. Even if I could afford to purchase the boat I could not drive it.

Basically I guess it all boils down to personal preference and I, as just a member of the general wakeboarding public was very impressed with the SA as an all around boat.

Man I had. I idea that a fist with an extended thumb and pinky was the official hand signal of wakeboarding!

On another not, congrats to your son! Maybe next year y'all can make it to the TX jam and teach us a thing or two! Any video??

Lol! That's funny, yes "Shaka" seems to be the official hand signal. I guess we don't even notice it anymore until you mentioned it.

I've got a video of the first day but in a typical dork dad move the video only shows the rollers coming in to the shore because I tried to video and watch at the same but failed. All you get is my narrative of his run. Epic Fail!!!

I wanted to make it down there this year, just too many schedule conflicts. We will be in Tx riding on Lewisville the 3rd week of September on our way to Lubbock for the Riptank comp. Also spending a few days around Oct. 15th for Red Bull Boarder Wars. If anyone is around there we'd be happy to get together and ride.

Mcdye, hit me up at the INT. I always enjoy meeting new folks.
