Got the family up around 4:30 am today to catch a flight from Atlanta to Minneapolis for the 10,000 Lakes Wakesurf Open. The girls will be competing in the Junior Division again at this event. Thus is the last event before World's which is being held in Parker, AZ in September.

http://midwestwakesurfing.com/?page_id=22

For this event, both girls will be riding new, custom LakeWakes surfboards. We had these boards made to be extremely lightweight and are hoping the Delta folks are kind to them.

Hoping to meet mnpracing and family out at the event this evening and hang some this weekend. We'll keep everyone posted with pics of the event and details if it's going to be live on the Internet.

Just returned to work from the practice sessions. Nice to meet Drew and the fam. Those girls can ride that's for sure! The G23 is a gorgeous boat. Standing beside the demo in the showroom, the gunwale was above my head (I'm 6'0"). Deep, deep inside, very high freeboard, with only 27" draft. Wake was huge with stock 950 tanks in the corner and stock 950 in bow. They had an extra 400 fat sac in the compartment, but didn't really need it for the kiddos. Wave was very high and steep, with good length. It was shoulder-height on my 8 year old...

Swim platform corner was only a couple inches under water when weighted. All in all pretty impressed with the boat; wave, fit & finish, amenities, etc. But I guess it should be for $125+ G's.

Thanks everyone! The girls are up against some tough competition this wkend! They will need their A games to make the podium.

Mike & family are great! Kids have already made plans for vacationing together next summer. :)

The G23 is sick. Beyond sick - almost terminal. But, I'd probably be OK with 2 Mojos instead.

Yeah, behind a G23. Very nice ride. Interestingly, we could only ride in one direction today due to the wind. But, it wasn't because how the wind impacted the wave, it was due to the exhaust blowing directly into the kids faces. Yuck!

Also, streaming live at idolsurf.com

Girls are scheduled at 4:30pm, but looks like they are running about an hour behind.

if you're using one of those fruity 'puters, you have to install an app called "ustream" then search idol surf from there and the feed will load

Perfect example why you need an FAE on the boat.

The Wolfe sisters done a great job again in reaching a podium win. And thanks for doing such a task on my boards.

The LakeWakes Groms got a TON of attention this weekend. It was great to hand one over to someone and watch their expression when they felt how light they are. Thanks for the new toys!

FWIW - those were Jordan's first runs on that new board and she absolutely ripped it up. One of very few competitors in the entire field that was able to pull off a clean run (no falls) due to the challenging wake from the G23.

Drew Thats awesome, glad they killed it!

I think you need to make a pitstop at Lake Mead before you head down to Parker, AZ for maybe a day or so, got some more weight in the XLV and they could get a late practice in haha

wolfeman131

We may be flying into Vegas so that would be a great thing to do! Thanks for the offer and you can see them really rip it on their boards.

More weight = :)

if you haven't been to parker before and you golf, be sure and catch a tee time at emerald canyon. hands down one of my favorite courses.

nautical inn in havasu is a great place to stay, right on the water. been around a few years so not quite the hilton, but the view is real nice and you get to drive over the actual london bridge every day :)

congrats to the girls and good luck..

oh ya, and if you do fly into vegas and drive to parker, watch your speed on the long highway out to searchlight. thick with cops... gotta be one of nevada's best speedtraps.

Congrats on the outcome at 10000 lakes. Gotta be proud about that for sure.

It was good chatting this morning over IM. I'll post an update from the trip to Worlds when we get back home. Have a few good pics from the event and banquet and "The Boat".

Seriously, I have to start a rant thread about this friggin' job we had done. Found the guy busted the fresh water lines in the yard that go to the dock. Found out b/c water was gushing from the ground. Found out that the issue with the corners washing out wasn't due to my neighbors walls, it was b/c the a-holes forget to install a board on one end and only put in 2 ft boards on the other. They should have been 6 ft min.

I need to get to selling so I can pay somebody to fix this crap.

We're trying for the "Team Wolfe" approach and how cool it is to dominate the podium. We'll see how this approach works as the competition intensifies and if/when one makes it to the podium and the other doesn't.
