Ha! Yea, we decided it is in our best interest to stick with the LS for now. We have some "other" things going on right now.

BOOO!

Well, for $129, I think these are a STEAL! Moombadaze has/had these on his '08 LSV and I really liked how they worked. And, these would look killer on your black tower, IMO.

chawk try DIY wake. 2013's are being re-disigned right now but will be available in 2-4 wks. There hinge weighs like 8lbs Its not a cheap light weight hinge like most you will see for $130-$299ea. They are MONSTER in size with ZERO rattle after you put 25lbs of boards on them. You wont be disappointed and the price was nice...

I'm curious how these look on the tower. I envision them having to be pretty low on the bar to be able to be level. Is that the case?

I think they are fully adjustable and can be mounted anywhere.

just like Dusty's Mom. :)

they can be mounted anywhere, mount is 2 piece's. Clamp portion can mount to any part of the rear down pipe, it has a star pattern built into that allows for adjustment of the arm to be level. The rack and arm are easily removed with a single allen bolt for trailering if you dont want them getting splattered by bugs

No kidding. Wow, these sound awesome. The website says the powdercoat isn't top notch - Daze did you see any issues with the finish while you had them? Chawk - do those new ones look decent quality finish? I am sure they would stand out a little against the brushed aluminum tower, but hell, if they swivel I'm down for saving 400 per rack for them!

moombadaze
08-21-2012, 03:46 PM
No issues with the finish for mine at all.

chawk610
08-21-2012, 03:50 PM
The finish looks great! I may have to go out and mount them this evening! I can't wait to see them on the black tower and get the spindly little ones it came with in the bottom of the lake! I will post a pic when I get them mounted.

Solid. I look forward to seeing what they look like!

chawk610
08-21-2012, 03:57 PM
I will say though... they did NOT come with any sort of pad or shim... just metal collars and I believe they are for 2 1/2" tower where mine is 2 3/8" I think. So I need to figure that bit out.

Hmm, that's kind of a bummer!!

My latest issue with the newest racks;

They rotate into the boat, or outside of the boat. There isn't a lock section to have them point straight back, which is the position we use most often when pulling up to a dock (facing out and you spear the people on the dock, facing in and you whack your head, facing back and all is good.)

chawk610
08-21-2012, 04:57 PM
These have (3) locking positions I believe... but I won't know till I get them on the tower. I have some 1/8" rubber shims here at work I will be taking.

That's really a bummer Hawk, because the website says that each new accessory purchase comes with their set of Universal Collar Spacers. Maybe they don't consider a "blem" wakeboard rack to be an accessory? 15 bucks for a set of these - of which you need two sets - out of which you'll only use one collar spacer! Nice.

wolfeman131
08-21-2012, 06:45 PM
I'd call and confirm on the spacers. Their customer service was great when I dealt with them.

my LSV is a 08, your LS is a 08, so it should be the same tower. Mine did not come with spacers or shims and I did not need them.

I believe the rubber spacer can cause issues of the clamps not clamping properly and holding.

they do have 3 locking positions--facing out, facing backwards, facing inwards

I'm really jealous. I tried to order these this week and have found out that Monster has discontinued them. Their stock of 2 3/8" diameter have run out. Some retailers may still appear to have them, but I've had two different companies (iBoat and onlyinboards) cancel my order today since the product is drop shipped from Monster.

I asked Monster tower about using shims for the 2.5" diameter version of their wake/surf pivot racks on my 2 3/8" tower and was told:

"Hi Tom,
No sorry that is a different type of clamp. The pivot rack has to be a direct fit clamp due to the weight in the pivot mech

Since it appears Monster's stock of the 2 3/8" pivot surf/wake combos has run out and Monster told me that they have discontinued this product, I'm planning to order the Roswell Surf/Wake combo racks with manual pivots.

The best pricing I've found online is, somewhat surprisingly, Overtons. A pair of surf/wake racks with manual pivots and universal clamps with taxes priced at $982.

I'll let you all know how they turn out!

According to Monster, they didn't intend for these racks to shimmed.

Ah, that's a heartbreaker. I have given up on my Comptech swivel rack and was thinking of a replacement. Maybe next year.

I didn't get out to the boat last night due to "sister in law issues" :) I will report back when I know more.

That is a lot of $$, the shims I have are soft rubber 1/8" shims, they grab like an SOB. They will work for this for sure.
