Congrats on the new Lsv, like the colors and the options.

Thanks, been a long long time dream to order a boat just the way I want, and I blame that dream on my mom, back when I was in high school my parents ordered a Malibu skier and i got to help pick colors, I remember thinking to myself I would some day do the same thing. Well if finally happened, and we let our daughter be apart of the color choice for this one.

Huge thanks to Skiers Choice for building a boat that has so much value and style. Cant wait to post some photos when we get it. Its hard sleeping at nights not thinking about it all

Mike , did you not see where Ian installed a box in his buddys LSV, that whole panel comes out, fiberglass part and carpet part, right now I have the sub in a chepo box to get me by for the season. Same box I had in the old boat, only bigger, had no issues with it, so I figure it will be ok.

IDK if i will be buying a Mojo or not. I know a lot of people who want to see one behind my truck when i leave the dealer.

I said as of right now the only Mojo i would consider would be the special Demo boat that i have posted pictures on. If the Skylon tower isnt on the boat its a deal breaker. AWS sure wants me to buy that Mojo, as well as SC people including SHane Stillman. I havnt even talked numbers with anyone or a delivery date or anything of the such. I only stated as the first line here says LOL.

don't worrie, I told my dealer not to install the forks for the racks on purpose, i was hopeing the tower would fit under the garage without them--no such luck. had to remove the whole rack and then had to have my wife in the boat pulling down on the tower about 1 inch to get backed in. Going to have to mod the cable that holds the tower up when its in the down position, or remove that support and fab up a wood board support of some kind. It was very nerv racking backing into the garage and realizing it would not back in at first.

Our test drive was very short, but boy does it feel different and ride differerent compared to the 08.

taking it out tomorrow for a day of breakin. im going to also try and get pictures with it rafted up with my old 08 to show some differences, side by side.

Boat looks awesome Moombadaze,

Yea with more freeboard comes a taller boat in general and thuss much hardert o fit into the lower garages.

Id assume the difference in ride is simular to the Mojo in the fact that it just feels quiter, some of that is the Cats on the engine, some of it might be the way its constructed. I know the Mojo just felt more solid then my 08 LSV. The 08 always felt great and solid but the the newer ones just feel more so.

Stacy, did you get the 350 surf engine thats blue? Or the standard 345 thats black? I know teh Mojo had the blue 350 surf engine and it seemed to be quite a bit more uhmp then my 325 had.

Question; in the picture you posted on facebook it looks like the tower mirror arm puts the mirror like 3' away from the windshield; is that just an optical contusion, or is it really that high? Is it the factory arm, or an aftermarket?

Ian,

That's the Samson mirror a few of us bought thru the Bakes Marine group but JV set up. I love mine on the Mojo. It isn't too high over the windshield frame, but is significantly higher than the windshield mounted factory one.

got the "surf motor" upgrade, after riding in Drews mojo I just knew I had to have it, the thing is a beast, it just sounds bad ass too.

tell me about, after haveing a aftermarket system the factory one leaves a lot to be desired, the motor really drowns the factory speakers out.

Drew was correct, its a aftermarket mirror arm, still need to fine tune the placement of it.

I totally missed that V drive cover when I saw the boat at the Dealer Mtg! I went back to my review as I didn't recall, but I see it was there. Looks much better than the '12, but we do like the usefulness of that space.

5 hours in one day is impressive man, i think i have only put 5 hours in a day on the boat a couple times and it involved a lot of boarding and surfing LOL.

I hear ya about the sub par stereo after having a suped up aftermarket one now. Thats how i feel when i get into other peoples cars. Im like seriously this all you got..I think i have become a stereo snob. LOL.

The truck and the car have upgraded stereos, and even the bike has upgraded speakers LOL

Beautiful boat, I like the added height of the new LSV.

moombadaze
10-24-2012, 06:52 PM
This may sound strange, but I finally bought the boat. Signed all the papers today and handed over the bank check.

Gotta say that Land O lakes Marine made this the easist boat purchase I have ever done. Thanks.

Hears the story,
A little while back I decided I wanted the 2013 body style LSV (thanks to Drew and his spy photo). Anyway I had to sell my little fishing boat and the 08 LSV. Sold the fishing boat, then called Rich at LOL marine and asked him to get me the option lists with pricing, couple days later I had that and started figuring out the options I always wanted and some I thought I should get, Still had the 08 LSV at this time. As luck would have it I found out the couple that bought my 03 were activily looking for there next boat. Told them that mine was up for sale and they should look at it even tho it was over there budget. Took them for a ride and told them if they wanted it I would come down on the price so it could be there's as long as the purchase of the new one would be a certain dollar amount. So all 3 parties had to agree on the numbers and we all did. We both got aproved for our loans and I had to give up the title for there loan, still had not been to the dealer to sign any of my paperwork. Emailed Rich a list of options and colors I wanted. Order to Skierschoice was placed at that point. I can not visualize at all how colors will look, but went with what I thought would look good, after spending countless hours looking all the boats on here, wakeworld and on google images, three weeks into the order I had a change of heart on the deck color as I have always wanted a colored top deck, called Rich up and asked if it wasnt to late to make that change. Got a call back the next day that the color change went through. Few weeks go by and i get a message that the boat is done and will be delivered that friday afternoon and I can get it that Saturday. At that point I was beyond excited. But still had absolutely no idea what it looked like. Saturday I got off work a little early and rushed home and changed clothes and was at the dealer a short time later. Took the boat for about a 5 minute test ride and then trailered it home. Still without doing any paperwork at all. Took the boat out that sunday and spend 5 hrs doing some motor breakin and just could not be any happier with it. So manny little improvements to the Moomba line in the last 10 years have made this latest version so outstanding.

Couple things that stand out after sundays driving. The dash--I love it, so easy to see and read at a glance, the little area to the right of the dash was perfect for holding my cell and cammera. Glove box is freaking gynormis. nice haveing all the switch's (balast) up high and easy to see. Like the sony remote as it displays the radio station-much improved over haveing to open the glove box to see what station is on. Have not hooked up my Ipod but there is a cable for that in the glove box-nice touch. Power port is up high on the drives side now too. Snap in carpet-will never go back to glue in. No carpet on the floors in the rear lockers or under the seats-good idea as I would have done this myself at some point.

So far one happy Moomba owner.

Awesome man, i noticed a lot of those changes when looking at the new one and liked them. I think this is why i liked the mojo much more after i spent a little time in it. When you stand on the outside looking in you just dont always see everything.

Great having a dealer that trusts you so much to let you leave and break in the boat before its offical in ink.

Still have no racks on the tower. I have the factory swivel racks and have not put them on as they will have to be removed evertime we take the boat out and are heavy and difficult to hold in place and bolt on, not worth it at this point.

I picked up a Monster tower swivel rack and they wont work either due the the angle of the forward swooping tower.

I'm thinking about having a canvas shop sew in some "pockets" on the top of the bimini with some sort of elastic cord or drawstring to ensure the surfboards stay up there. I haven't found a quick release type rack that then has surf-sized forks.

I sooo agree with this. My yard never looks bad in the summer but it will get a bit shaggy.

Last summer my neighbors would randomly poke at me about not mowing my yard every couple days, and trimming edges every week so it looks as sharp as theres.

I pointed to the garage and the <ONLY> boat in my neighborhood.

I said with a smile, when the sun is out in OR and i got the day off, i will spend my money on Beer and Gas to float that bad boy right there <pointing at Fierah> long before i pull the string to start my lawn mower.

Todd, Since the Monster racks were so cheap I have been really trying to make them work and after trying several position's on the tower and a little modification to the Monster racks, I think I finally have some racks that are easy to remove and swivel in all the way.

Had to mount them "inside" (kinda reverse of how all other racks are mounted), but they will swivel outwards around the tower, also had to mount the swivel release with the handle up, then did some grinding on the rack swivel for clearance.

If the weather is good and I get enough time, I'll pull the boat out and put the tower up and get some photos

From my experience with Chase's 2013 LSV, the 2013 racks:

-Are ugly as sin; they have sharp edges, and look like an afterthought, not an OEM piece

-Hit the tower; regardless of adjustment, they still hit the tower

-Don't swivel all the way in, and don't lock straight back. Super annoying.

-The locking pins vibrate lose and cause the racks swivel unexpectedly.

I'm glad I had a chance to play with them on Chase's LSV, because I'd be upset if I bought them for my OBV.

These Monster racks have me rethinking modding my Roswell swivel racks to fit the OZ tower, and just going the Daze route!

wolfeman131

If his racks have the black handled pins that you pull out to swivel the rack vs the pull up knobs, then he doesn't have the redesigned 2013 racks. I haven't had any of the issues he has encountered with the new racks.

I do have to remove the racks to clear the garage door, they remove by taking out the single allen screw, the clamp stays on the tower. the clamp and bar have this multi point star pattern that locks it in place when its tightend down.

mirror arm is allso removed for lower the tower, it removes with no tools needed--got it at Bakes marine i think.

I remove everything off the tower-speakers, mirror, and racks cause my wife or daughter actually lower the and raise the tower while im tightening the 2 bolts which I do from standing outside the boat.

@Moombadaze, did you consider or try the fixed factory board racks? In pics that I've seen it looks like they do not extend much above the tower if at all when the tower is folded. It also looks like when the tower is folded the racks will drop down just aft of the windshield so clearance in that aspect won't be a problem.

With our HOA being such jerks, I'm willing to try just about anything (including no racks, as last resort) to keep the ease of putting the boat in the garage.

Todd, i did look into the factory fixed racks after getting the boat home and finding out the factory spinners would not work, I also looked at other brands of fixed racks and quick disconnect racks, Turned to Monster tower as ive had a couple of there products on the last boat and liked them and they had the best price at $130 per rack and they swiveled too. I got to use them this weeked and they worked perfectly-takes about 15-20 seconds to install one rack after pulling out of the garage. Very happy with the racks.

Yea man, it sometimes takes a bromance to see a bromance.

I think Dusty and Kyle need need something special. Maybe a pajamagram accompanied by a Vermont teddy bear... Or a Vermont teddy bear wearing a pajamagram.

One year update. Did not realize it but today it has been one year since we took delivery. Been a fabulous year of ownership. Only put on 40hrs on the motor but many more just hanging out enjoying the lifestyle. Nothing but good things to say about the 13 LSV. For my family this boat is just about perfect. Time for winter mods.....

well, one does need a little off season, with it being so nice for so long why bother going out when it is cold out as it only last about 3 months.
