I have a 9yr old that wants to surf very badly!!!! My wife and I are beginners and have an Inland Squirt. We feel that this is too big for her, but can not find a board in a kid size.

I am checking websites now, but was wondering what everyone else has done and is doing. Also, anyone have one for sale?

Thanks for the iput and help. Her Birthday is in 2 weeks and I really want to be Dad of the year!!!

For the kids (13, 10, and eight), we have a Phase 5 Scamp and Phase 5 Icon. All three use the Scamp, and the older 2 use the Icon. I also use the Icon as the upper weight limit is 165. We generally use them with the 2" fin. Both come standard with a 1" fin. The Scamp is around $225, and the Icon is about $475. Both of these are skim-style boards. They also play around on a Grindwater V-star surf-style board.

Jimmy jam is like 100 bucks doubles as a strapless kneeboarding..

We have a phase five icon for the kids , I unfortunately would be a constant submarine on it... Lol

$700 for a wakesurf board? Jesus!

not for the kids/grom board. It's $425/$450 depending on the size you want/need.

I think that is still the most affordable hand-shaped, surf-style grom on the market. The Shred Stixx and TWP are $599. A Phase 5 Scamp can be had for around $250, but it's a production, skim board.

Most of the adult boards from the major manufacturers are priced at that level now:
