98 Outback Shaft installation

We are looking for any help on installing a new shaft for our 98 Outback. As it is the middle of summer and boat shops are backed up for 5 weeks we are going to do it ourself to save time. I have some basic knowledge on boat repair but have never replaced a shaft. Looking for any advice.

We had a good discussion on this subject recently over on the Supra board. They guy in that post had to replace everything underneath his boat though, not just the shaft. Here's a link to the post. Its got some great info and tips. http://www.supraboats.com/msgboard/read.php?TID=1093
