I'd take a picture of the lettering to a sign shop.......maybe they could match it up.

I had a very hard time with that also, however found some really good ones at DECALZONE.COM.

I ordered mine from there for my new 05 Mobius,,, they look good.

You can get a good idea what they would look like. You can choose the background, shadowing, outline, etc. and even enter your exact numbers and see exactly what it will look like.

I am a Moomba owner and I can match the font if you want to. I even have a "Doming" kit for the lettering. All my contact information is at www.sign-edge.com

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks!

Would the Moomba folks tell us what the font is?

They probably can and will. They are probably just too busy building boats to read evey post on here. PM one of them and i'm sure they can help you out. Just click on the "team" link at the top-right corner of te screen, pick an administrator or moderator and send a personal message with your query.

Cheers,

I downloaded both fonts off of a couple of "free-font" websites. True they are a perfect match to Moomba and Mobius fonts, but when you type in a number, they go blank. The font author did not include numbers in the font set. :(

Ill keep looking around and download the font from a few other sites and see if its just the font files that I have. I may have to draw my numbers by hand (wouldnt be the first time).

If anybody else out there downloaded the fonts and had luck with numbers, please post a reply in here.

Most sign shops should be able to cut them for you. They will likely have the correct font (that is the full one they probably actually paid for). If you can't find one, call:
Wesson's Sign De-Signs
310 East Tennessee Street # B, Florence, AL 35630
(256) 766-7533

He did the lettering for my boat when we bought it new in '92, and the vinyl still looks like the day we put it on. Actually, it outlasted the gelcoat as i had the boat repainted 2 years ago. When i got it repainted, he also replicated the original decals for me (Supra doesn't have them anymore) for only $350. Shit, he even came in on a saturday to put them on for me. He recreated the them from rubbings i made of the old ones on unused newsprint. He's a great guy; tell em the guy with the red Supra Mariah sent you.

He's actually got a new set of decals for my starbord side sitting in his shop right now. I had to get them recut because a moron a seadoo rammed me.

For pics of the sign guy's handiwork, see this link: http://supraboats.com/msgboard/read.php?TID=526

I contacted Moomba a couple of months ago to get the "MOBIUS" logo in fileform. I received an answer once that the request had been forwarded to the marketing dept. Nothing since then even thought I sent a reminder.... probably realy to busy in building boats ;)

I found this old thread about Moomba font decals.

Hi. Was anyone able to get registration decals to match the Moomba font?

I have a 2007 Moomba Outback and just picked up the numbers. I would like to get decals that match the Moomba font and colour.

Does anyone know what font Skier's Choice uses?

If Rugburn is still around, can you make the decals?

Thanks,

Laz

I like it too, I am not sure if I want to spend 90 bucks though. At least you can get the font name and use that through a sign shop. Cool looking numbers though............

This was one of the first add ons I did for mine. I ended up taking the boat to a local sign shop (didn't know about Rugburn at the time). They did a pretty good job IMO.
You can find a few posts on this over last couple of years. If I had to do it again, I'd contact Rugburn or a local sign shop. Here are a couple of pics:

Those look nice and they are half the cost of the site I had found. I guess I need to find out my numbers and order some, the boat gets picked up a week from Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rugburn

That is a great price for those. I have my own doming kit and did my own letters but it is a pain in the a$$. Those guys have the automatic equipment and curing ovens to make them more efficiently. I cant even make my own for that cheap of a price. Without the UV curing oven, you get tiny little bubbles in the epoxy. I have methods of getting them out one by one, but the oven does it all at once.

I considered getting one, but the digital vehicle wrap business right now is hotter than Al Roker on a treadmill, so Ive channeled my efforts that way. Im contemplating wrapping my boat this spring. I did a sailboat last spring and it completely changed the look of it.

Say Rugburn, This vehicle wrapping, do you have any experience with it yet? There is a guy around the Fox Lakes area in Ill that is doing it, and has done a couple of sleds at the track. I'm running 3 120's and was thinking about getting them done all in the same theme but differnet colors. Any thoughts about doing a job like this? I'll send you a PM with my email.

Just sent you an email with a couple of pics of previous vehicle wraps Ive done. I havent done a sled yet, looking forward to it! It cant be any harder than wrapping a Porsche 997, that was like wrapping a bowling ball.

The font Skiers Choice uses is a modified Masque font

I have posted it on the Moomba Map. Hope you can grab it and use it

I'm sure it all varies on the individual, but I got stopped on the lake one day by the local game warden and he hastled me about mine. Luckily I got away with just a warning. I don't know about you, but drawing attention is the last thing I want to do.

Anyone know if outline contrast numbers are allowed, the reg are vague about font and detail. They state 3" high block lettering in a contrast color visable from 100 ft. then of course the postioning

This should be ok on black?
Colors are lite on the conversion to jpg, they are moomba sandrock with a slightly darker outline.

wakeside has some very sweet drip-molded decals. They are pretty spendy at $110. I just looked up the link and they said they are not available at this time. However, I just looked earlier this month and they were available at that time, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I sent off an email to see what's up with these.

tyger,

I saw these, pretty cool but pretty pricey, My sign guy is doing them for about $35.00 which is what the dealer charges for stock lettering.

I found this place
http://www.signspecialist.com/lettering/boatnumbers.html
and they do great work. I downloaded the Masque font on their site and when you order there is a comment section where I put the numbers that I needed asking them to do their best to match the numbers in the Masque font. They were spot on and it was only 26.00 shipped to my house. Super fast to, I ordered on a Tuesday and had it that Saturday. Real happy with it.
