What recommendations do you have for a good wake. I have a 400 in the front, 750s in the back and 2 400s to throw around

The extra weight of the 750s doesn't do any good without some additional weight in the front. My suggestion would be to buy a bow sack! :) In the meantime put one of the 400s in the walkway, fill the 400 front, and put about 500 lbs in each of the rear bags. Try the plate in the middle and adjust from there.

Or if you really want to go big wake throw the other 400 on the front seats and fill the 750s and lower the plate to about 1/4.

Careful too much speed and too much plate causes the boat to porpus

My favorite setup was the stock ballast filled, a 750 across the bow seats and a 750 on the floor in the cabin. This vid shows the wake with that setup at 24.2 mph and a 65ft rope.

I always liked the look of your wake on your videos. Ok stupid question, I can never understand which way is up or down on the wakeplate. Is the backend all the way in up or is that down?

The wakeplate all the way up will have the back end sitting deeper in the water.

bzubke, where is your wake plate at? Any recommendations you have for getting pop? You get tremendous height. Do you cut hard into the wake? I'm just amazed by the pop you have and spin.

Cut hard but dont need to cut so hard you are thrown off balance when you leave the wake. Lots of guys cut hard far out than ease off when they hit the trough of the wake and loose speed and pop. You would be amazed at what kind of height you could get even off a stock wake with the right execution.

Also make sure you lock your knees or give a slight push at the top so you don't absorb the wake. A shorter rope will help too because the wake on the LSV tends to be a bit meatier closer up and its shorter so you don't have to kill yourself to cross it.

Lots of youtube videos to help too. I like Higher eduction for some tutorials, its a good DVD.

one comment on ballast setup for LSV..
More up front will get you a better wake!
When I got my 06, it had stock 400 in center, and 750's in rear lockers. Original owner said IF you run the 750's full, you better add at least 600 or more to front.
It was best to me to have about 400 ea in rear and load the front extra..

I agree!

sometimes I run nothing in the rear and just the 400 and some people in the front, the wake is really firm that way.

Just came back from a session.

Had 900 lbs up front (400 in locker and 500 in the walkway).

750 filled to around 400 level and other 400 filled.

Wake plate 3/4 down. Wake was very crisp at the time, no slosh, but wasn't very high. Will play around with wakeplate settings a bit more.

My experience with this hull: Lots of weight in the rear without much up front gives a big steep thin wake that you slice thru. Like some others have said more weight up front.....much more than the 60 / 40 rule. This will not make the wake appear much bigger but it will be tons more solid and give you lots more kick!
