Thats pretty slick but im still unsure of how weighting the entire boat down both sides and then haveing a side ways tab is going to list the boat over to make a surf wave with out forcing the boat to want to turn in circles.

Once AWS gets one in stock i will request a ride and see if for myself. Its a sweet idea but idk.

I love the average time to switch activities is 40 minutes, and the average time to switch sides is 26 minutes LOL.

Im well below that average with 10-12 minute fill and drain times for switching sides.

I am curious about the hydrodynamics of that. How does that work? Which way does the tab sit on the "surfing" side, in or out?

I would guess that the gate extends out on the surf side creating drag on that side and since it is mounted to the stern the stern would drop and the bow would rise? Don't forget that the Malibus have the wedge to pull the back end down as well.

Very interesting idea. I like it If it works as advertised.

IF you follow the original link and click to the right once or twice you can see the picture of the system. Its looks like a pretty simple setup. Looking at my lsv i would need to do some glass work in order the geta flat place to mount a trim tab vertically.

that is interesting. In looking at the pictures it looks like it could be retrofited with not to much effort to any hull unlike the wedge system

I'm sorry, what lead you to believe I was a venture capitalist, well never mind that, if you want to drop your boat off here I'll install some trim tabs on it sideways and see what happens, but at the end the parts stay here.

A fairly cheap starting point could be made with Nauticus Smart Tabs and some threaded rods & turnbuckles I would think

I surfed behind one last week....The wake was very very nice. The best part was the boat not listing. We had buddy with us who surfs goofy, flip of a switch and 4 seconds later he was ready to ride. The price tag was around 109k...ouch. I love my Moomba, listing and all.

I really hope im missing the point here, this looks like advertisement to add a Switchblade to an I/O and then Surf behind it? Thats about one of the dumbest ideas to come out. Not to mention im pretty sure Surfing behind an I/O is illegal in most if not all 48 states.

The razor blade is for I/O's and wakeboarding. The switchblade is for inboards and more geared for surfing, but also wakeboarding.

Looks like the razorblade is a trim tab system but nothing like the surfgate. Surfgate is tabs that move left to right . Razorblade goes up and down
