I have a 2005 Outback with 200+ hours. Since putting in into the water this spring, it has been very hard to steer - last year, no problem.

I have found the rudder grease zirc under the ski storage compartment and after great difficulty and some scraped arms, I have been able to grease it, but this did not help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to the board!!

I suspect your steering cable may be in need of replacement. There are a ton of informative threads about trying to lube or replace steering cables, give the search function a spin and see what you can find.

try disconnecting the steering cable from the rudder and see which part is hard to move. That will tell you if it is the cable or the rudder

Hmmmmmmm . . . .

That's one of those tricks/tips that I say to myself, "you are an idiot" for not thinking of the simple thing(s) first.
