We did it! After talking about it forever we finally ran 2 boats together and made a surf bowl. Not something to do every time out but this will definitely stay on the list of vacation to-dos.

The setup was my 08 LSV on one side, jjolson's 08 LSV on the other. Both boats had ~1000 in the corner plus a few people. At normal surf speeds there was too much lip in the middle so you could only surf one side or the other. But at 14 MPH the center lip flattened out and the push in the center was unreal! Also we had to hook 2 ropes together to get back far enough. The boats have to be very close together as well so not for the faint of heart (or moderately intoxicated.)

That's jjolson getting his surf on. I got to be the crash test dummy while we got things dialed in. :) I recommend a stable board for this...

I'd be more worried about my boat partner running into me. Lots of trust with each other driving that close to one another

Oh no doubt. We had one boat set perfect pass and drive straight, the other adjusted throttle and position.

Awesomeness! Can't wait to try this again too. Looks like you had your waves pretty well dialed in - we're going to have to try going a little faster this year.

So did it feel funny like you were going uphill in the middle of the bowl?

I didn't get the uphill experience but it was definitely a much different feeling than normal surfing. The push from the center was incredibly powerful and you could shoot up the wake towards the boat. It really tossed you around when you fell too. I had fun riding one wave, dropping back to center, then coming up the opposite wave.

It was a blast. The push was amazing! You need to make sure your drivers are definitely in sync such as not just shutting the boats down when the surfer goes down, etc. It did not get rideable till the boats were about about 7-10 feetapart. We made sure that one driver drove straight and the other person made the adjustments. I cant wait to do it again in about 2 weeks :)
