Wife and I donate a lot of our stuff to a local thrift shop, our little "give back" to the community in need. Anyways, I was dropping off a load the other day and these two water sport items were on display. Old school wakeboard and some skis. Any opinions on either. Don't know anything about skis but read while back about old vintage skis folks on here still have. The skis worth anything or just an old cheap pair?

The store wants 50 bucks for the board and 40 for the skis so that's an expensive picture on the wall. Now if the skis are vintage I may have to go pick them up

Drews mom gets the same look in her eye as that cat on the jobe when I come see her!

You mean that "I'm about to take down a weak lil gazelle by ripping it's throat out" look?

Yeah, I can see that.

Yeah, something like that! Her throat is usually involved!

The ski is not worth anything. It isn't a very good ski to use and there is no draw for anyone to collect it. The Jobe was part of the first generation of compression wakeboards. It would be a easy board to ride (very stable), but riders will find riding fakey very difficult.

You can make a kids wakesurf board out of that thing if you pull the bindings off and lay some gator grip on the top. I'd give 'em ten bucks for it. That's about it.

I have those skis! I think I paid $120 for them back in highschool from Dunhams, definitely not a vintage pair (I'm only 23). Still working great and slalomed on them for the first time this year last weekend. They are the only pair of skis we have ever owned. Would love to try a real slalom ski someday as the rear foothole on the slalom one is a little uncomfortable.

Well I guess I'll just have to keep working then. Oh well
