Here's my 10 year old. He nailed the 360 a couple of times last weekend.

Awesome!

My 10 yr old daughter finally rode them out this past weekend, too. The 12 yr old is so, so close.

Love to see them all pumped when they get these skills down.

You/your wife are better parents than we are. My wife posted her iPhone vid to fb, but I haven't even looked at the gopro vid yet, much less edit it like you all have. Nice work!

Yeah, my wife committed to the kids to make a summer "movie" at the end of the summer so she's been taking a lot of footage and making some of these short vids to share with friends and family.

He was riding his baby sister's Phase 5 Scamp. He commented how skatey it was even with the 2" fin I put on, then he just started throwing down the 3's. He's still under the weight limit, but I didn't think he would be able to ride it as well as he did.

Sweet !! So are there fins on that board? I have done one 360 to date but no vid. and didn't ride it out. Using your hands seem to work well , I'll have to try that after healing.

The Phase 5 Scamp comes with a 1" fin, but I changed it out to a 2" to make it more stable (relatively speaking). Paddling does help. The kids are good at it, I usually end up losing my balance as soon as I reach down to paddle....

Most havent worked hard enough on their beer guts which are a fantastic impediment to bending over & keeping your balance.

No you don't; you need better technique. Watch Chase Hazen pull off a 720 on a surf style board.

Or, my daughter, who learned from Chase.

I'm wondering about that too. My squirt is mostly? skim style and I feel like I'm pearling it way too often. Also 210...

I don't have much of a problem pearling, it's that wicked torque I have when I throw my 360s! These weak boards can't handle the power!

Here's a vid of my oldest on a Phase 5 Scamp then on the Phase 5 Icon. Some good 360 attempts toward the end. This wave is with the new surf platform installed. It took some of the spray off the starboard side of the wave, but I'm having a hard time getting rid of the port side wash spilling over onto the wave. When we were in smooth water it was fine, but the choppiness made it spill over. I'm glad of the fact that the water no longer catches on the underside lip as that seemed to be a lot of pressure on the transom bracket.
