Bilge pump stays on

2010 LSV.

Noticed this weekend after emptying some water in the bilge (automatically) that the pump stayed on after all water was removed. I open the bilge and tapped the pump with my finger and it shut off.

Not sure what units are installed from factory but wondering if there is parts in them that can get "stuck" or if its all electronic and I should just get a new one?

There should be a knob on it to test it. It works the float. Spin it a few times. Any trash In bilge can clog it. Carpet pieces fiberglass, dirt, etc
