06 Outback loose steering

The steering on my 2006 Outback has gotten progressively looser over the years. It's especially bad when running at high speed through the ski course, it's all over the place. Is this fairly easy to remedy or are we talking about a dealership visit? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

what do you mean by loose? is there play in the steering when you hold the rudder tight? pull up the floor and have a looksy.

This is the problem I have with my 199 Mobius. If you hold the rudder the steering turns more than you would expect.
