Supposed to be nice all week. Thinking about putting the boat on the river after work. Forgot I borrowed my kid the truck this week, because he's moving.

I can't win. Maybe I'll rent a tow vehicle and give the kid the bill.

Or have the kid drop the truck off to dad at 5pm. He can get a lot of moving done from 5am-5pm

Yep, get the truck back. Tell him if he doesn't get it back by 5pm, the Christmas lights are his responsibility this year!

You won't let it go will you. But that is a good idea.

Not quite yet, but someday. Hope it made you laugh.

I'm thinking we'll hold on to it until at least march 2013 to see if you get the 2012 lights down by then-:)

Get the truck back... the kid can wait or have his friend with an old Datsun 210 help out ;-)

I've not understood the 10 trips in a truck method of moving for years. $29 at uhaul gets you the 26ft truck. a few $$ in gas and mileage charges and you are money ahead moving in one trip as opposed to multiple trips in pickup trucks..

uhaul and the car rental companies do rent ford f150's now. I noticed that the ones enterprise rents have a receiver hitch built in :) bill the kid.....

The kid's lazy and can't be bothered to do it in one day. He want's to take all week to move, at his leasure. Funny you brought that up. I was going to ask how much he spent on gas and show him on the web site what a 1 trip solution would have cost him.

He's up to 2 trips now, and the second wasn't even a full load. Can't help but to shake my head and laugh. He thinks this is the cheapest way to go.

As far as the Xmas lights are concerned, they're down and I don't think they'll be up this fall. Need to consider some design changes. And yes I did get a laugh out of it.

Sounds like a "pack as you go" scenario.

Having moved 3x in two years I've got it down to a mad science. The aforementioned scenario is a good way to piss off anyone who is supposed to be helping you!

I went out to help him tonight. With the truck sparsely packed, he said that's enough. Guess who's pissed off. On top of that, come hell or high water, my truck is coming back tomorrow. Man, I thought he had a head on his shoulder. Nothing left to do but shake my head and laugh. Wait, I thought I already said that.

I'll be in NYC next week. He can use it then.
