Had a GREAT time today at the King of the wake Professional Wakeboard Tour here at Acworth today. At least until the camera meet ground experience. Smack, one dead 40D... I have an XTI backup but it's just not the same... Will be sending the 40D off to Canon soon to have repaired...

Main events are tomorrow!!

Yup new XStar. Supposed to be 1K heavier and around 2600 stock ballast, somewhere around 125K cost.

A Moomba LSV representing, a missed handle pass...

Oh, what is 501 getting?

Those new XStars are pretty nice, lot's of cool designs, storage, seating, etc.

I don't know what engine they are running but it sounds like crap. It has nice deep throaty undertones but it has a nasty tone to it that as best I can describe is a jigsaw on thin unsecured plywood. Not a pleasant sound...

X30 is a fine boat. Levi will be very pleased with it.

Looking to head up to Acworth today myself. Hopefully I will be able to snap some good pics of the riding.

They had a Mastercraft X30 at the tourney. Let me put it this way, if I had the money it'd be in my driveway.

Not impressed with the Nautique G23, friggin HUGE boat, I can barely reach the top of the gunnel from the ground, need a sissor lift just to get in the damn thing LOL...

Yeah I agree. Looks like a tank. Have you seen the pic of it behind Watson's Tahoe(I believe)? It dwarfs it.

Apparently they are having issues with the new XStars wake washing out.

There are a ton pics, but they are still on memory cards and I'm beat. I spent the last three days cooking in the sun and am expecting to finish the slow roast tomorrow when we take the boat out... just too beat to deal with pictures. We just got home and I may work up some energy. I'll post some pics once I recover and get them off loaded from the memory cards.

Wow I had not heard that before but it does validate what we were seeing. The wake did wash out alot. Mostly on the side the rider was not on but enough times on both sides I wasn't impressed. The XStar has, IMHO, knock out lines but the wake, while fairly massive, just didn't look clean like I was used to. The wife and I commented on it a few times in comparison to our wake being cleaner and in our opinion from shore nearly as massive.

Think the driver is adjusting the surf tabs as the rider switches sides. My buddy does this on the x45 to make sure the approach wake is clean, so not to worry about cabin movement with observers.

The guy who told my little brother this is a rider. Said they couldn't keep the wake the same between two riders and that it seemed to was out a lot. They also told him the wake was huge.

Hey guys, thanks for thinking of me. Yes, I did get my new ride yesterday. Took it our for the maiden voyage today. Wow. I didn't want to come and plaster it on the Moomba board because that's just not cool. My XLV was amazing and this board is the best, I still visit it daily. I have nothing but respect for Moomba and can't wait to ride the Mojo all summer long. With that said the X-30 is off the charts. Definitley my favorite MC. Tonight I got to test out the wake and at only 20 mph and NO ballast it was clean and awesome. Hopefully do some boarding this weekend.

But let me be very clear about something, a Moomba is built just as well or better then any of the expensive brands. They are QUALITY boats. My XLV was an awesome boat and I think if I was buying new I would have a very hard time buying anything but a Moomba. I love em and can't wait to ride the Mojo. I may not own a Moomba now but I still feel like part of this board.

Cheers.

I dunno, the XStar wake was washed out on both sides more often than not it seemed like. I don't doubt they are having issues with it.

The X30 is work of art however. Levi made a great decision on the x30. Like I said if I'd had money or credit enough I'd be out riding in this today ;-)

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. Because my main riding buddy just bought a new mojo (Based on how awesome my XLV was, I like to think) I will be still spending like 49% of my time behind a Moomba.

I think the XLV was one of the most under rated boats out there. It is big, it seats a lot of people, a ton of storage, a ton of hidden ballast, and a lot of fold up seats, and big sun pad. I will miss that boat. Honestly after I had a guy agree to buy it, I offered him a couple chances to back out and if he had, I would have kept the XLV. I was almost hoping he would. I mean I love the new boat and all but I have seen a few people on here bash the XLV and it always kind of bothered me. The biggest downfall that people complain about was that the wake wasn't great at slow speeds, especially with lots of ballast. This was true but if you had it empty and the plate all the way down it was decent for beginners. We always rode at about 22.5 and 2600lbs and that was where the sweet spot seemed to be. We had that wake dialed. But other then that it was just great. Surf wave was awesome on both sides. I loved that boat.

Anyways can't wait to get some video and pics behind the Mojo in a couple weeks!
