ProMariner charger?

Is anybody running a extension cord on their charging system. And do you know how to undo the inline fuse on the power wire?? I have the proSport12 dual charger. I didnt fully understand the instructions on using a long power line. I want to run the extension cable from the front to the rear to the boat and mount a plug-in in the rear fat sac holder. Ive done it with other chargers. I used outdoor grade 12ga 3-conductor cabling. Cut the plug of the chargers power cable, spliced and heat-shrink the extension cable to the chargers cable, then connected the other end of the extension cable to the charger inlet receptacle.

For the fuse holder, push the halves together a little, then twist 45* and it should unlock and come apart.
