Like to the computer? Are you using the apple cable? I have never had any issues with mine, although I rarely do it with over the air updates and I stream most of my music.

Is there an error code? Any additional info might help.

Are you hooking it up to a mb quart headunit?

My iPhone or iPod didn't work through the USB on my MB head unit either. I had to buy a cord from "Baileys" ( I'll try to find a link when I get home). Now it works great! I can scroll through playlists and everything. The cord plugs right into the BRAIN under the observers chair.

I also needed to buy the cable to run the iPhone through the MB Quart unit. Works well with the cable. I went with the 13 ft cable to have some room to move around as I wish. I drilled a hole in the glovebox and keep the cord wrapped up in there. Simple plug and play.

Yes, do the new Moombas still have the MB or do they have a different brand?

Not sure about the new ones but you do need the cable as mentioned above. Also if you have controls on the stern for the mb quart and the ubit gets wet it will short the whole system out. Just unhook the rear controller and its fine.

I hope they are not using the mb quarts anymore, they really are annoying.

I am not 100% sure but I believe my new Mojo has a Sony head unit and controller.

Correct for all 2012 models. I think the switch was made late summer of 2011.

Wonder if the new models have the direct ipod connect, would it be worth upgrading?

Yes. The only thing to worry about is find a wired remote that will cover up the holes from the mb quart one. I think there is a kenwood remote that would cover the holes or may have been a clarion.

Here is some information that all of your dealers have access to:

Music Input Options for the 2010 MB
Quart Stereo Systems
There are several options for importing music into the 2010 MB Quart stereo
systems In a Supra or Moomba Each has its’ own advantages and
disadvantages. Listed below are four of those options:
1) DRIVES - (Also known as a flash or thumb drive) This is probably the easiest
and best option for most people to import music on your MB Quart Stereo for
Supra or Moomba. With this method, you can download MP3 files from your
music library on your computer onto the jump drive. Plug the jump drive into the
USB port in the glove box. Set the stereo remotes to “Aux” by using the source
button on the stereo controller.
Advantages: Low cost, Simplicity and Portability. Ease of access to the music
from the stereo remotes in the boat. If the title and artist are stored with the MP3
file, then they will display on the stereo remotes. Faster scrolling than with an
iPod connection.
Disadvantages: Although the jump drives today have significantly more storage
than in the past, If you like to bring a very large music collection to your boat, you
may want to consider some of the iPod options below.
*Note: The USB port that is located near the drivers side throttle in a Supra is
not compatible with this function. This port is exclusively used for VISION
software updates.
2) MB QUART iPOD INTERFACE CABLE – (available from Skiers Choice parts
department - SC Part # 110208 ). This cable plugs into the back of the stereo
black box that is located in the Observer storage area.
Advantages: Allows you to use your iPod library in your boat. The stereo
remotes in the boat, will display output from IPod. The stereo remotes in the boat
will control the iPod. It may or may not charge the iPod depending on the iPod
version.
Disadvantages: This cable turns the iPod hard-drive mode on and you no longer
control the music selection from the iPod itself. You control the iPod completely
with the stereo remotes in the boat. Scrolling through large music libraries can
take much longer with this method, because you are viewing it on the stereo
remote. Because of software that is proprietary to Apple, the stereo remote
control is not nearly as user friendly as the iPod itself. (see explanation below)
*Note: In this mode, the iPod will read “OK to disconnect”
3) 3.5 mm DOUBLE-ENDED CABLE (male connectors on both ends) from an
iPod or any other output device with a Headphone jack to the 3.5mm Aux input in
the glove-box. In this option, you would use the AUX mode on the stereo to play
the music.
Advantages: You have full manual control of the iPod or other output device at
all times.
Disadvantages: You can not view the song or artist from the iPod or other output
device on the boat stereo remotes, and you can not change songs on the stereo
remotes. For some users this is the preferred option. For some users it may be
inconvenient not being able to see or control the music selections from the driver
seat.
*Note: Since your iPod or other output device is the source in this method, the
sound on the iPod or other output device must be turned up from ½ to ¾ in order
to have good sound quality on the boat stereo. In this mode. The Supra Vision
system will read “Aux”
4) SINGLE ENDED 3.5 MM (iPod or other output device end) to RCA CABLE
(stereo end) - This cable connects from the iPod or other output device
headphones jack to the white & red RCA inputs in the right hand side of the glove
box. There are two connectors on the RCA end and only one on the iPod or
other output device end. The Advantages, Disadvantages, and Notes from
option 3 all apply to this method as well.
In a future article, we will discuss an iPod docking station as another potential
option.
iPOD USERS: Please keep in mind that there is not just one style of iPod.
Currently there are over 30 different versions of the iPod that have been sold or
are currently being sold. And that does not include the iPhone or new iPad.
There are many different generations (the original IPod is now on generation 5)
and each generation has a slightly different interface so everything above does
not exactly work with every iPod. Option 3 works with any iPod as well as
anything with headphone output (like cell phones) and that is why it is standard
on all iPod models. To explain a little more about the difference see this link…
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1353
The truth is there is no perfect iPod interface currently with any stereo
manufacturer. Apple owns all the rights to all interfaces and they change
interface compatibilities frequently between generations of IPods. Maybe it is just
progress, or maybe they do that so that they keep control of the market. They
also limit what they allow each stereo supplier to control through the individual
cable connections.

2012 Head unit is a Sony and comes with the USB cable out to the glove box. You can plug the Apple computer cable into that USB cable and works perfectly.

Edited to add that as its says in #2 above, with this method the head unit and the remotes control the ipod. You cannot scroll through the playlists on the Ipod, must use the menus on the HU or remote.
