Ok...does the backseat of my LS come off? I have lifted on it a few times but it feels really "attached"?? I wanna see what's doin' under there.

Try a bigger hammer, or in this case pry bar.

Here is the owners manual;
http://www.moomba.com/downloads/owner_manuals/moomba_08.pdf

From that, it looks like the ballast is under the seat;

On the 09' the seat comes off and the ballast tanks are underneath. First time I took it off it was difficult. Not the easiest to put back on. Works better with 2 people.

Cool, I will try both, I bet it slides cause I have tried pulling up with no success.

You have to lift slightly and pull out. There are 2 hockey puck like things that sit in notches in the hard ballast tanks

Chawk
I find the best way to remove the seat is with 2 people. Have one person lift the seat in the center allowing the seat to curve 4-5" then the second person pull up on one of the ends as you twist out. Be extremely careful of you speaker cover as it will come in contact with the seat and break the speaker cover. To install the seat slide one end in place have one person to pull up on center as the other person pushes down and maneuvers the seat in place. It is tight and will feel like you are going break the seat, but it will flex a lot.
