All the Grip Tape was coming off my trailer steps and fenders and it looked like Crap! . Wanted to update the trailer a bit for this year. My buddy had some Diamond plate laying around so I went for it. Jig saw Blade and a File did the trick. Put in Stainless steel screws to finish it off. Looks a Lot Better nd didnt cost but about $10 bucks for screws. Nice Huh

Jason, LOL..... I had seen some of the New trailers with it on them. Thought it Looked Good... Im thinking more like 5000 dollar upgrade for my 02. It would have cost me more than $10 to buy the repacement sticky tape.

Looks great. I've been wantign to do this for a while. there was a member making the diamondplate and selling ti pre-cut very reasonably a couple years ago. I saved his PM but just havne't had the extra money to get back to him. Don't know if he'd still make more or not?

Rons got some really shiny Diamond plate, maybe he could get some for the rest of the Forum. Go pro IT!

David, I had a couple pieces that were not so shiny from use. The diamond plate I used came off an old cooler or something. I took some four 0000 steel wool to it and it cleaned right up. Pain in the butt because its time consuming..but it made it look very nice.

I forgot to mention that there's a motion detection security camera on the wall just across from the door on the right. I need to disable that first.

Eric Miller, aka Stretch on here.

No i dont think hes making it anylonger. The economy crash hurt his buisness and i think he had to close the doors on it. Last time i spoke to him hes got a solid job doing somthing simular, cant really recall. Me and him talk quite a bit in the summer months.

FYI diamond plate is not cheap by any means.

Yup. I even have a buddy who works at a steel & metal wholesaler and he told me to forget about it. Ridiculous prices unless you want it REAL bad...

This place has colored epoxy powder coated and regular Diamond plate in pre cut sizes ready to ship. Still pricy though ! The colors would look sweet to set off your trailer.

those prices aren't too bad... Like viking said, i'd rather mod elsewhere, although I have to do something as I only have griptape left in 3 or 4 places of the 6 :(

Called HydroTurf - I believe the same type of stuff used on jet skis but they have a huge variety of colors, patterns, etc.

http://hydroturf.com/products.php?cat=sheets%20of%20hydro-turf

I picked up a roll of the self adhesive stuff off ebay a little cheaper if I recall - went with the plain black diamond cut because I was only using it on the trailer. Still have a bunch left over so when the grip tape on the top of the fenders goes I'll add more there. Maybe up on the tongue of the trailer as well.

The Hydro Turf looks good, especially on you yellow trailer Berg ! I was going to go back with something then talking to my friend he had spare diamond plate. I wanted my trailer to POP like yours does. I didnt realize how pricy it was.

Good subject, and there others out there going thru same thing we are. So glad I joined the forum. Was a little hesitent about joining at first, now Im glad.

Hydroturf is the bomb. I have it all over my boat.

I just ordered a sheet of it a few days ago. Had to replace my fender and opted out of the step-pad option and replacing with hydroturf on the new fender and swap out the old on other side while i'm at it. I'll use the old pad as a pattern. Figure I can find other places to use it up :)

Yup - kind of like LED lighting addiction. I think that's what happened to Newty.

I like your diamond plate mod - but obviously I'm biased...

14101

My original fenders were beat beyond repair & could only find diamond plate replacements that would fit. They looked out of place by themselves, but now the step pads help the fenders blend.

Ha ha - I already went through it with seadek! Didn't want to pony up for that on the fenders though :) and going through withdrawls

I have requested samples from Hydrturf twice now over a 4 week period. Guess they are to busy to send any.

I also have a request in Dusty. I left the "PWC make/model" empty so I wonder if this has something to do with me not getting mine.

I requested them 3 times and never received any. I was going to use some on the gunnels and transom. Got fed up so I went with seadek.
Now with the trailer I couldn't justify seadek and put in an order with Hydroturf ONLY because of the (+) feedback from the group on here. Left only to my experience thus far with them, I wouldn't have ordered.

Let's hope I get it??
