99 Outback Tach

I have a 99 Outback with the Medallion gauges. I thought the mdc controller was defective and medallion sent me trouble shooting instructions. When following their instructions it appears that the tach is bad Where can I get a new tach that works with the system? I could also use one new speedometer also.

Well , you can go to your nearest dealer. I f you are the OP then your could send them back to the gauge mani and I think for 15 they may replace it if it is defective. This policy may have changed in the past 4 years since I had a problem with my outback gauges.

Isn't the speedo an Airguide? If it is then you will have to look among the used market as they have been out of business for about six years. If you find a place who have these parts let us know as I will probably have to go that route someday.

My nearest dealer is over 3 hours away so it's a little inconvenient. Are there any online sources for Moomba parts? My gauges all seem to be Medallion.

you can call your local dealer or Atlanta Marine at 678-482-6499. They have helped out a lot of folks with parts.

Has anyone just removed all the Medallion stuff and replaced with conventional gauges? I'd assume you'd need new senders etc, but it would sure get rid of a lot of headaches.

I talked with the people from Medallion and they have been very helpful. Send them some part numbers and they said they will help me find something that will work.
