UPS dropped off some goodies today. A pari of rev10's and a syn4 to power them.

I have to give a shoutout to earmark for some awesome service and fast shipping. I placed my order tuesday and received everything today. Also to KG for getting me in touch with Odin at Earmark.

Threw a classy beverage in there to give some perspective on size.

I don't actaully have the boat yet but hopefully soon, it's finished at the factory just waiting on shipping. I'm gonna try and mount them as wide as possible so they don't look weird. From the looks of it you would hit your head on the z5 before the tower speakers.

We shall see about reinforcment. Im not woried, those towers take way more abuse from boarding then hanging weight on them. Plus if it brakes then time for an upgrade.

I couldn't stand it so I unhooked the sub and amp in the trunk of my car and hooked up the syn4 and rev 10's in the trunk. I'm super impressed! You can feel bass from a good distance away, are very clear and even at high volumes they are not painful to listen to at close distances (my ear a foot from the speaker). The cool thing was I closed the trunk and the bass they put out made if feel just like I had a sub in the trunk.

I agree, towing a heavy person on a wakeboard is by far way more stressful on the tower than any speaker you mount. Never really understood why people worries about that so much unless it's a fold up/fold down issue

Be prepared to bash your head and/or face the first few times youre in your boat. I kept forgetting my Rev10s were hung up this past weekend while working on the boat and i swear i knocked myself out at least 3 times. I have the Z5 rack and the Rev10s are mounted outside of the Z5 grab handle. I'm 6'3" so i moved my Z5 up as high as it could go so i could walk under it.

Looks good Clamcakes!!

Hindsight, I wish I had went ahead and got the LED rings. I def don't want to wire for it now.

I did the same thing after getting mine installed. Head to the speaker pretty consistently.

They sound great. I havent gotten to crank up the system since i got the Rev10s and new CompVX sub and IX1000.1 in. Hopefully the next weekend we'll be hitting the lake. I'll see if i can get some video tonight.

The RGB LED controller i'm using is sick. Autosounds here in Dallas had one of the Moomba dealer boats all decked out in RGB LEDs. I saw the controller the installer used and found it at superbrightleds.com

Here is the model #
LDRF-RGB6-TC2 RGB Controller

Yessir thats a Z5. I stored my boat outside during the winter and i took the fabric cover off of the frame. I'm thinking its going to be a beyeyitch getting it back on nice and tight.

Do you take your Z5 top off when towing long distances?? I tried to unclamp the entire rack and couldnt get the damn thing off

I have one and keep it on while towing. I do secure it with ratchet straps "just in case" some failure happens. I wouldn't want to even attempt to put the canvas back on, good luck.

It's pretty easy to take off. You don't unclamp it though. It has sort of a ball and socket connection to the clamps. I tried to find a pic but couldn't. I never take it off for normal trips which are about 40 miles round trip at 60mph. But I did take it off when I took a long trip on the highway just to be safe.

I'm the same as Brandon, I tow about 45 miles most weekend with it on. I pull the cloth for long trips .. Make a 2 hour trip occasionally and it just depends on my mood on whether or not I pull the canvas

We'll be on Ouachita. We rented one of the 70 foot boats from bigboats.net. We'll be up there June 22 weekend. I took the canvas off for the winter, didnt want it getting F'd up and fading out. Going to put it back on this weekend. Hope i'll be able to get it back on nice and tight

Just checked out bigboats.net ... looks like they changed the website. Looks to be Dreamchaser which is setup at Mt. Harbor. I've wanted to do a houseboat trip for 5 years now. Ya'll will have a blast.

Hopefully I'll be out there that weekend. PM your email address if you want some info on the lake.

We got 8 adults and 6 kids sleeping on the boat. I'm taking my LSV and one of my buddies is bringing his jetski.

I originally called up Wakezone boats on Ouachita first. The owner wasn't to receptive of folks piloting their boats around the lake. He basically said 'Wakezone' will drive the boat to a spot and get you all set up. I asked him what if we wanted to change spots everyday, he said they would give you one 'free' move to another place but you'll pay for them after that. All this didn't make any sense to me, the reason you're renting one of these houseboats is to cruise around the lake and check it out.

Anyway I think we'll have a great time. This will be a good dry-run for me and my family. I ultimately want to rent a boat on Lake Powell for a week.

I don't think you are going to want to "cruise the lake" in that beast. If you do, I hope you are planning on over $1,000 in boat gas. Those things don't cruise cheap.

Wakezone has newer boats but the Dreamchasers aren't bad at all. That is the route I would go if I were doing it. There are a few popular spots where you can park it right around there. Also "Wakeboard Cove" is just around the point from where you depart.

We planned on staying some place different everynight. Thats where the jetski will come in handy in scouting out new spots to camp for the night. Cool, we'll check out wakeboard cove. We're also bringing some scuba gear to get our 'dive on'
