Hey guys, footing is one of the many water sports I enjoy, and I was wondering if anyone else on here does it? Post up some photos, videos, etc of your talents or lack-thereof!

I've also got some questions... when I first had my Sunsport, I had a 13x13 on it and I could get right around 40 mph top end. I did some deep-water starts back then and got it to work, but I would have preferred faster speeds, because it dipped down to around 37 when I would drop my feet in the water. Since then, I've switched to the new Acme #543 prop which is 13x11.5. I switched to this so that I could push a loaded down boat for wakeboarding and wakesurfing more efficiently. This was also a result of hitting a log with my 13x13, trading it in for a spare 13x12 and then buying the 13x11.5. So now my current prop and spare prop both aren't capable of providing me with the speed I need to make it happen. SO, any ideas on how I could get back to the speed I need. I've searched for 13x14 props but I don't think they exist. If I were to get my hands on a 13x13 again, are there any other ways I could squeeze more speed out of the boat?

Put some classified posts on the ski sites and boating sites stating exactly what you are looking for. Lots of folks have a dusty one in the garage after propping down to push the heavier wakeboarding load. You only need to find one. Good luck!

Yeah, I almost picked up a 13x13 through the Malibu forum classifieds for $60 shipped but at the last second the guy mentioned he made an error and it was a 1 1/8" shaft, not 1". So the search continues...

I love footing. My dad taught me back when I was in middle school, and the suit I wear is his from when he started back in his 20's. I usually only get about 1 session per season, Ash hates pulling that fast. My happy spot is around 33 or so. About the only pic I could come up with. The session was about a mile long pull, and was a blast, back in 2010 behind the 20ssv. Suit is a bit small...

Dusty, I'm impressed with 33 mph, how much do you weigh?

dusty2221

170 or so. My dad has a hard time with the 33 also, he always wants to run around 38 or so. Maybe 34ish is where I like to be. Hmmm, when you do it once per year it's hard to remember!

Dang, I'd have to be going about 70.

Yeah, I like to be at about 40 when my feet are in the water, so probably 42 before I set the feet down. And I weigh between 200-210, depending on the meal I've had beforehand : )

I don't barefoot long line to much anymore, just to hard on the body should I crash. I will foot on the boom just about whenever. Speed wise, WOT. This pic is about 2 yrs old now, but I know I could do it again if I really wanted to.

Cool stuff, unfortunately the side window frame of my sunsport prevents the use of a boom...

Ha Ha , no way. That is an outback wake, not sure if I can slalom barefoot as it is tough cutting across it on a slalom ski at 34mph. But I'm game and will post the pics if i get any.

Yes and the wakeboard rope. I like to foot at 42 when I do it but no one likes to drive for me. I do long line off a knee board. I also wear a vest...

Strange. I can see them on my iPad, but when I checked again, they say "moderated post" and don't have a post # associated with them.

Doc, put those back up again. They are some great shots!

I think you need to put down the Zima, walk away from the Gator fans and take a look for yourself. They are gone! Something is up. Not sure what, but something....I can smell it. Is Ed back?

Meh . . .

Zima is the drink of choice of Gator fans because it's fruity, like their coach. I'm killing a few Molsons tonight in honor of Doc. The pics are there, I promise you. I just don't know what this "moderated post" by them means.

LMBO! Thats a good one. He is a Georgia alumnus but due to his betrayal I will agree with this description of him.

You should have gotten some Moosehead. Love that beer!

Anyhow, I cannot see Doc's pics at all. Can't even see the post that they would be in. Weird.

**I'm viewing them on my laptop if that matters

I think Doc just messed something up when he posted them.

It's spring break time... time for me to come out of hiberntion. Great pics- ChrisK, good luck with the prop, I'm sure you can find one without too much issue. I've been back and forth, but not yet willing to go the 2 prop route and not willing to give up the top end for footing... other end will just have to deal.

I'm also glad to hear someone else has a vintage 1800's faded suit Dusty... I got the same deal from my dad. Rather tight, shoulders are thin... and starting to rip. Also a "sweet" faded red color, now pinkish, but it works great.

Me wrecking... not so good on long line...

start them young... get them footing when you only have to go about 10! and yes that is a swing off the swingset. Works perfect!
