Settle down there, boys! This ain't the thread you were hoping it would be.

Just FYI that the folks at SC asked that the pics of the new Natique be taken down. They understand the work that goes into a new model launch campaign and don't want to impose on the "surprise" the CC has coming.

As someone who has worked in Marketing, I understand and appreciate the gesture. It sucks when you get snooped on these projects and can deflate you. So, bravo to the SC team and everybody start scanning the web on Saturday. Or, click on the Mojo link above and you'll get a pretty good idea of what their new boat looks like.

Understand. Professional courtesy. Same reason sharks don't eat lawyers (plus the taste).

They should have invested in more robust setup to promote their 107k boat. Their website has basically crashed.

Wow, unless planned, that was a perfect lesson on how to botch a new product introduction. Nice work on the buildup & hype, but you simply can't let photos leak and then follow that up with a crash of the web reveal. Yikes! There are some marketing folks out there that aren't sleeping too well tonight.

I would really like to know how many $100K + wake boats are actually being sold each year. I understand that the rich have disposable income, but they are rich and don't have time to board. While I still have a hard time understanding how so many are buying the $60-80K boats, another $40K is a lot more.

I think small, that is one of my problems.

Epic fail but......they'll still sell an arse load of these to the 1%, just so they can say they have one while the boat sits on the lift at their millions dollar crib. I ain't mad at them, but I ain't them!!

I guess the manufacturers are selling enough $100k boats to justify continuing to produce the same model year after year and introducing a new model every few years. They wouldn't build it if there wasn't a demand for it. Plus, does it really matter if "the rich" use those boats...it's their money, not ours. I see more Bayliners and other runabouts sitting in people's yards or driveways rotting away uncovered, unused, and not maitained than I see higher-end wakeboats go unused.

From the 2012 Atlanta Boat show, the folks were talking that MC ended up moving 17 or so boats and Malibu around 42. I don't know how many of those fell out due to people not getting financing or getting cold feet. I also don't know how many of the Malibus pushed over $100k. There were all types buying the boats as the finance companies will let you go 20 yrs if it's over $50k. I sold boats to single guys, young families and even a Grandpa took delivery of his Mojo last week! On our lake, the MC's seem to get used by the kids (teens/young adults) and not actually the guy that paid for it (Dad).

Even with 59 boats sold in the Atlanta area of a population of 4.2 million people we are talking about 0.001% of the population. I see with the labor costs of building a boat that production will be going overseas and/or more automation in the production of the boats.

Yeah i think that is the general trend. The people who buy the 100k plus boats typically don't use them, it's their kids that get to enjoy the fruits of that labor. I know we have a few SANs cruising the river where we ride and everyone in the boat looks under 30 and I've seen one a few times that will occasionally have a much older gentlemen tow it to the launch followed by a tahoe full of 20 year old or so kids.
