New to the forums and have found a ton of great information so far. I just picked up a 2001 Ouback LS last year and really enjoyed it. Time to add some more fun though. I wanted to add some fat sac's to beef up the wake a bit and was hoping for some guidance on the setup (searched a bit on the forum and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for). I wanted to run about 1000lbs - 1200lbs of additional weight, here is what I was considering:

Under Rear Seat: Fly High Pro X Series Center Locker/Rear Seat Sack: ~580lbs
Middle Ski Locker: Fly High Pro X Series Tube Sack - ~370lbs
- Tsunami Pump
Total: 900lbs + some people

Thoughts?

Congrats on the boat! Your plan sounds good. Check the classifieds on here regularly for deals on extra ballast bags and pumps. FYI: you can order a Tsunami 1200 from Walmart for $34. Just order the extra fittings from wakemakers.

@ jpetty3023 - I just opened it up for the season. I will put some pics up once she's all purtied up.

@ kaneboats - thanks for the heads up on the pump, I will definitely keep an eye on the classifieds.

Although our boats aren't identical, they are very similar. I have found that more weight in the front helps the wake more. I run the 370# tube sac in the rear locker. In the bow, I run a 260# side sac under each bow seat (don't fill all the way) and another 260# tube sac in the bow walkway. That setup with a few people works really well for my boat. I don't have the front ski locker like yours, so we have so step all over that last sac. I estimate I am running approx. 1000# of ballast, about 60% front, 40% rear (which is opposite most recommendations).

The Ultimate Setup :

Nothing else.

It's the same system that's shipped in actuaél boats, Moomba, Supra, Mastercraft, ...

It wasn't available when I did my ballast upgrade 2 years ago, unfortunately.

Thanks for all the input. After some research I think I am going with a similar setup to NCSU. Here is what I decided on based on size restrictions etc.:

2 x 225 Sumo Sacs under the front 2 seats
1 x 350ish Fly High Sac in the ski Locker
1 x 300lb Sumo Sac under the rear seat
Total: ~1100lbs

Probably just going with regular pumps for now, potentially plumbing it all in after I decide I like the setup.

Sounds good, should be a good wake. Just be aware of how low the nose sits. It is really easy to dip the bow in these boats, especially weighted like mine. Make damn sure the bilge pump works properly!
