Although there are some things that have pleased my on my boat, some things have not.. Im sure we can all say that. Question is, overall smoothness of the engine, drivetrain and prop. Mine seems rough. Never hit anything with my prop. Brought it to the dealer in the fall of '10 to check on vibrations and he said "there all like that" I don't know how it is supposed to be, has always kinda been vibration like. Most noticeable in the turns at wake board speeds. and sometimes just at idle when picking up a fallen skier/rider, ect. Boat has less than 60 hours on it. Stock 3 blade prop.

Is the stock prop an acme or oj prop?

Its an oj.. 13.5 I think.. Have often thought of going 4 blade for smoothness... See my thread in the skiing section for that discussion. No clear consensus.

Check your alignment. It is very very easy to check and adjust on the d drives. Do it yourself some shops will take a close enough approach.

Shaft Alignment? Engine Alignment? How? I'm not v. mechanically inclined, but I did modify my own ballast system and install perfect pass (dbw) Also do all my own stereo stuff. How do I check it? How do I fix it?

I found a great thread on this... thanks... may tackle soon.. at least to see how far off it is... Looks like any autoparts shop will have feeler gauges. If I can fix it, and it fixes my bad vibes, I'll be way happy.

my boat has a slight harsh vibration too and i kinda think it is that stock OJ wakeboard prop, plan on buying an acm 1847 very soon. also going to get the alignment checked and adjusted at my dealer, i attempted it in my boat and my engine would not budge.

Is your prop CNC /balanced or maybe not? Can be slight vibration due to slight imperfections from casting etc. This is part of why CNC props cost more..

I have no clue.. what I do know is its the stock OJ from a 2008 outback.. 3 blade. Havent been impressed with it. Not sure if it is causing the vibration, or the shaft coupling. get out of the hole power is kinda meh for a 325hp boat.

I have an 08 with the stock prop. My boat is just as "smooth" as any other of the 5 inboard ski boats that I have owned. Since the prop is probably just a cast piece, you may want to look at changing that first. Before spending any money, is there an inboard boat on you lake that you could drive to compare? Your opinion of smoothness may be different than mine or others on the board. Drive a MC, CC, or Bu to see if there is a difference.

Well, I know there is a difference in a 196 CC.. I have ridden in a 2009, and that thing is dreamy smooth. It has a 4 blade... wondering is anyone knows what exact prop comes on a CC 196 from the late 2000's (09)

its an acme 422... hehe, ans my own q!

Made another observation last night.. most of the vibration occures around 750/800 rpm... and it is more prominent when turning either direction.
