Got a letter/application in the mail today from these cats. Anyone here use them or have an experience with them either good or bad?

I want to say this is who i have been using for the last 3 years. I will know shortly when they send me my yearly bill LOL. Its been a good experience with them so fare, never had a claim but there prices are nice, apx 400 a year for our boat. The only kicker is you gotta pay attention to payment options, if you make monthly payments it will cost you up to 50% more for the policy, you will want to make it as 1 payment.

This could be my shitty schooling, but can you help me figure how his $1200 per year paid out over 4 months is worse than your $1300 for a year?

I'm with Allstate and believe I pay approx $535 annually.

I pay the policy in six consecutive months to cover the full year. This is how they said seasonal policies are setup.

I get those Boat US things all the time but never checked them out. Sorry, little help.

I use Westmar Marine Insurance Services @ $395.00 a year, doesn't matter how you pay (I believe, not sure as the wife pays it) it's still $395. Nice thing with them is full replacement cost coverage if it's a loss including the goodies.

Progressive is even better if you have your house/cars thru usaa. Progressive carries boat policies for usaa so you get multi-policy discounts. I'll call this place and get a quote. Hopefully I get better luck than Kane has had with them.

progressive here. I won't give you my price for the reasons below.. op only asked for experience good or bad..

I've had this discussion on the motorcycle forum I belong to as well..

keep in mind that you CANNOT compare prices of insurance from one to another as there are way too many factors that go into the policy price and I can bet that no two members on the board carry the same coverage amounts.. credit, homeowner, multi-policy(in some cases), location in usa and perceived season length will dictate sooo much...

I pay around $525 but I've had claims for underwater strikes (OUCH). Maybe why they didn't call me back.

Remember to get your discounts if you have had any boating class or test even if it is a free one on line.

Online test??? Even if you flunked? I remember the question that did me in: "Which way is port?"
I answered: "It would have to be to the east in the Gulf."
They said my answer was the opposite of right, which was also the answer. I still haven't figured that one out.

I have AmFam on a bundle with house,RV and auto. $400 a year with full replacement and cost a little more if you partial pay it. Best to pay full price at once for lowest price. The boat is seperate but they still give you a discount.

I have had Boat US now for about 5 years. I was paying more for my old outback dd with less coverage with the old company. I pay roughly 450 per year with a lot more coverage. I have filed 1 claim and Boat US covered it without any problems. The customer service was top notch. They had an adjuster go to the dealership and I had a check and all this was within about a week. You can pay it over like 5 months and pay $5.00 more per month or just pay it all at one time and be done with it.

We use progressive as well. I did not know they were paired with USAA, I will check that out!

This could be my shitty schooling, but can you help me figure how his $1200 per year paid out over 4 months is worse than your $1300 for a year?

Because i pay 400 on my boat per year.

I pay 1300 for my truck which i drive all year, and it actually covers my boat and trailer while its connected to the truck. I make 10 payments per year for the truck insurance so i get 2 months with no payments.

I am shocked it costs him 1200 per year for boat insurance.
