We had a blast, we hit every wakeboat display...most of em at least twice.

Supra wins in my book. Hands down, the 2012 242 is leaps an bounds ahead of the game. If I had cool $75k laying around, I wouldn't even question it. I think we spent a solid hour in the boat.

And, he soooooooo wanted to love the MB. It's just too easy of a design to pick apart. The poor salesman was simply overwhelmed once we peppered him with questions.

I'm uploading about 25 pics and will post later today. A very nice show overall with a good number of boats on display from all the big players: Skier's Choice, MasterCraft, MB, Malibu, Natique, & Tige. If Centurion was there, we missed it. The show hours were 3:00-8:00 pm and we were literally escorted out the back door about 8:45 pm with the guys from Dallas Ski Boats. Walt & Shane were very gracious with their time.

The guys from Waterski America (the Malibu dealer) were nice while we were in the boat but then got stupid rude when they thought we were out of earshot. So, I can't resist posting the following. These goofballs actually have posted on their webiste that thier salesman is the "father of Modern Day wake surfing."

We were there on saturday and had texas mastercraft work up some number on trade in for a f21 little did we know when we got there that a trailer is an extra $5500 which kinda sucks that you have a 49,999 sticker on the boat and then it's and extra 5500. Needless to say were deciding right now whether to go with that red and black launch 21v dallas ski boats has or an f21 tomcat. They're both real close in price so were kinda going back and forth on which one we like more. I'm leaning a little toward the 21v because of the vision system and the overall depth of the seating area. Were trying to get something done in the next week so we'll see what happens. Anyone have any experience with the 21v wake? Wake is one of our top priorities. We've ridden the f21 and like how good the wake is at 20-21 on a shortline for practicing new tricks.

bzubke? Do you know if the hull has changed?

I have ridden an 05 21v and its wakeboard wake dominates my 24's wake. It is consistent and stays clean on both sides of the wake (only SC boat that does that I know of). One of the guys I used to ride with had one and ran a lot of weight, which i believe you do? I can probably produce a larger wake with mine but I can't produce the consistency and the firmness of the 21v.

Here is a pic of the 21v opposite of the take off side of the wake.

From the research I've done it seems like the 21v hull has only received minor changes to the hull but didn't affect the wake at all. We will definitely be running extra weight. Were you easily able to ride at 75 feet or longer at speeds less that 25mph? I've been trying to find pics and vids of the wake with extra weight but it's tough so thanks KG.

KG's Supra24
02-06-2012, 03:36 PM
I'll dig up some extra pics for you.

All our riding was 23 or under and his boat was always weighted. Line length in most of the shots will be between 70 and 80. 750's fill the rear compartments completely full on his. Then he has the IBS in the bow.

Dug up a video for you too, its from the side, though.

You can tell when I pull real hard it starts to create some wash on the oppo side but it quickly turns into a landing zone once the line tension is released.

This is likely 70-75ft and 22-23 mph.

if they are close in price, I'd take the supra over the mb. the fit/finish will be better overall and just guessing that with all the mb's that are selling currently, resale 3-5yrs later on the supra will be better when there's a glut of mb's on the market.

our dealer starts at $52k for a new 21tomcat with trailer. includes the basics like dual battery, stargazer, bimini, basic cover, basic stereo. just need to add the wakeplate and tower speakers.

tunable(?) rudder. Don't know if that is the technical term for it, but it allows you to adjust to counteract prop rotation push. In other words, you can keep the steering wheel straight when you want to go straight.

Thanks for all the pics KG the video didnt work for some reason but the wake looks great and it's good to hear that you can ride slow with a longer line, as i've noticed is much easier for me to spin when I ride on other boats that I can ride with a long line. Were still unsure of the exact numbers in the 21v we should get those tomorrow or wednesday. There's a lot of differences between the two boats so were gonna have to weigh all the pros and cons.

Now that one strikes me funny. I was getting ready to climb into an MC at the Portland Boat show, shoes on and beer in hand and the salesman guarding it about had a heart attack. Slipped my shoes off, and handed off my beer. Climbed in and retrieved the beer - as the guy turns away muttering a bunch of profanities I'm sure.

OK, lets try this again. I WAS CENSORED yesterday and had my post deleted with NO chance of editing out what they didnt like, for talking about the very same thing yall are on this thread??? Now Im really not sure what Im allowed to say and I cant really speak my mind but here are my thoughts. Mastercraft wins the Dumbest price award $129,000 LMAO..keep it! Axis added a nicer interior and 22' option..very nice. Naughty just tries to hard to be different..its nice but alien like?? Its like someone trying to be your friend to a uncomfortable level. lol. Supra, best interior and bimini for sure. OK, here it come..I was really impressed with the T*MCAT f21. I didnt see any weak spots, I liked the storage, the fit and finish were great and the styling is just cool! Im afraid to go on form here so I will just cut it short and not speak my mind. Jet

I agree with pretty much all of that. We would probably be looking really hard at the f21 but we were really put off by the fact that they had a big $49,999 sticker on a boat that they were actually trying to sell for like 58,000. I mean we worked worked out some numbers via e-mail and never once mentioned that extra 5500 for a trailer. It's not necessarily dishonest but not something me, my brother, or dad were particularly fond of. So hopefully we can get a good deal worked out on a 21v which was listed at 59,999 with trailer included and I believe it is a better boat overall.

My opinion has nothing to due with picklefork, the whole shape and graphic design is ugly IMO.

Also, I feel supra makes a heel of a boat with classic lines. The 21v also has a notoriously good wake. I love the supra interior, possibly best on the market with colors designs and fabric.

The 21V is probably the best all-around boat in the Supra line. The best handling, clean and rampy wake even at lower speeds, and an impressive surf wake. Hard to beat especially with the new dash and electric height adjustable seat.
