Ok peeps, made it up to the Seattle boat show. What a spectacle to be seen. After you pay 11 bucks for parkering Holy chit man, you pay 12.50 a ticket you can feast your eyes on all the shinnies.

Ok honestly I wasnt impressed at all with the show. I expected there to be a lot more ocean stlye boats since we are in Seattle but i still expected a better showing of wake boats, and river boats, and open bow I/O boats. There just wasnt as many as i really expected.

Venders ohh my god there was a lot of venders, mostly all big boat stuff but still pretty decent to walk threw and look at lol.

Over all i dont think i will be attending the Seattle show again, with the gost of fuel to drive the 425 mile round trip, food, drinks, parking, entry fee, and time spent it just wasnt worth it. I can say that i went and saw now lol.

Ok on to the boats.
these first 4 are standing on the north entry way over looking the boats. Can you find the wake boats here?

Correct answer is there is only 1 actual V drive wake boat in all those shots. Most of the wakeboats were hidden behind curtains, or in the east hall.

Master Craft was the first boats we found, decent little display.

On to Malibu.
AWS cant display Malibu in Seattle as there is a Malibu dealer in Seattle. I was disapointed in the display because all the boats where jamed up next to each other with only 2 or 3 inches of space. You had to stand on platform and look inside from the rears.

We really liked the interior of this one, I think it the VLX version. It has very simular colors to Fierah, and the outside had matching colors to the truck.

Now heres a boat i have never seen at any shows. The Sanger, ive herd a ton about this boat but never seen a new one before. Was a pretty nice looking boat but the sales guy didnt know anything about V drives, why they exist or even why they were designed. He just kept fumbaling threw answers with his customers, i almost wanted to tell him to shut up and i would help them out LOL.

Centurion only had 1 boat here, same as the Portland show. When i asked the sales guy point blank why they only have 1 boat at each show? Hes a jerk and got all offended saying how the economy sucks, no one can get money to buy boats, and yada yada yada LOL. I looked at him puzzled and said, thats funny because i know several dealers selling boats left and right, maybe its your attitude lol.

Mike, thanks for all the pics!

Interesting that there were 2 DD's at the show. I don't know if there was a single one at Atlanta. Anyone know what that smaller shift lever is on the ski boats?

Interesting on the Sanger - the logo font on the boat & trailer don't match. OCD personality like mine wouldn't be able to stand that.

Not surprised by Centurion rep. I've seen that "our poop don't stink attitude" before.

Not surprised by MB reps. Other than Dallas, I hear their dealer network is weak.

The 'bu's always look nice.x

Looked like AWS had some great pricing on their Moomba & Supras, so not surprised to read some of those rides were sold.

Anyone know what that smaller shift lever is on the ski boats?

Drew that small shifter is on all Super Air models too. It is evidently called a hydro-gate, seems it works somewhat like Moombas wake plates, but a different design.

Looks a lot like the PDX show. Thanks for the update Mike - now I know I don't need to spend the gas to venture up there! Pretty sure I crawled all over in that very black/gray Supra that sold!

I got a look at the little shifter thing as well at the PDX show and was wondering - looks like a wakeplate type of control.

thanks mike for the pics.. amazing boats...

that shifter is called a hydro-gate. look at the back of the hull and you will see it. there's a channel designed to funnel water against the bottom of the hull and through it. works like a wakeplate, but looks way different...

No i dont recall the price on the 242 =(
Gerry didnt go because they said he was cleaning and reorganizing everything after the Portland show LOL.
No one from Exile, Exile doesnt do the boat shows or the booths, since they are in a partner ship with Sampson, Sampson gets the vender space and does everything.

Exile is a direct manufacturer and the fact Brain even sells to us direct is more then he has to do. When he sells to us direct hes taking buisness away from shops like Earmark who sell retail. This is why you dont see Brain at boat shows setting up booths.

Sampson was there and i stoped by but mostly to look at the tower mirror i want to buy.

I went the day it opened and again on Monday. The most interesting story was that Supreme. The dealer was new at it and the factory told him it was a new boat, but he was all over it because he thinks it's actually used. I took a look and it definitely doesn't seem like a brand new boat inside or in the engine compartment, more like a demo boat. He seemed pretty pissed.

kaneboats
02-01-2012, 10:09 PM
"New" is a relative term when you are talking to dealers. To a consumer "new" means "in the box". In dealer speak it means "never titled" and thus "demos" are "new". Funny the dealer was the one complaining when dealers do this to customers all the time.

wolfeman131

That's the second time in a week I've read of a po'd Supreme dealer. There is a serious flame thread on WW started by a dealer about his issues with Supreme.

The beers didn't start until 1:00pm. But, they soon were flowing very quickly. At the boat show, they were $8 a each. I bet we easily dropped $150 at the show on beer and had a blast. Made the mistake of agreeing to a second round of Mexican food after the show. A quick 4 hr nap & I'm getting on a 6:00 am flight. Thanks for the pics. Good Job. Our boatshow is next weekend, looking forward to it. As for the shift lever on the Nautiques ,all responses were correct. Hydro gate is essentially wakeplate. As for the pics of the 200 closed bow ski boat comes in open bow ,exact same weight. Also standard motor is the 343 with option available of 450 HP. Would be nice to have a similar option for the Outback. Yes i realize Moomba has a 400 hp 6 Litre motor but not available in boats other than LSV and up.

Although ski boats are more than adequate with the 325hp i have, or the 340 hp ,more power is usually required ,much prefered,by Jumpers and such. If Moomba wants to play with the Big Boys ,maybe it should at least offer the option on the bigger motor?

As for the comments on the Sanger boats. They are a simple designed boat, with few changes over the years ,But QUALITY HAND built. We have a local dealer, but the Dealer himself has a bit of a ???? Reputation.

Looking at the boats posted ,ive always felt Malibus have by far the nicest styling, finishs etc. Not prices though... Mastercraft usually dominates our show and likely the Canadian Ski team will be present to help influence / meet and greet.. Looking forward to the show. We may have a smaller market, but we have a Healthy, cash loaded ,work force with many people ready and willing to buy,so dealers will put a Very Big Push selling boats here. Looking forward to seeing what is new and exciting.
