KG , those are some good pics. Man cant wait! Hope it does go to BS. Want to get in the water so bad. Went and looked at my boat today at repair shop for the Spider cracks I had by back deck. Its almost done, they are working on final touches. It Looks good. New bracket on swim deck and gel coat looks SWEET. Have not got the bill yet. Ouch....Is it Summer yet!!!! Ready for Brostock 2012

01-28-2012, 01:47 AM
....Is it Summer yet!!!!

No. But we are but a few short weeks away. It's why I can still claim to be sane.

01-29-2012, 10:58 AM
Easy for you to Say in Florida Kaneboats. I still have at least 3 months before its wetsuit weather!

No. But we are but a few short weeks away. It's why I can still claim to be sane.

01-29-2012, 11:49 AM
We are having a freeze ride next month. Water temp is 56 right now. Buuurrrrr!

01-29-2012, 12:07 PM
Yea it sucks when you have to bring a cooler full of Hot Water for wetsuit , Instead of BEER!
Hope you got a Heater David!!!!!!!

Man I want to go so bad, I think that I am going to have to make it happen.

In WI we have 4 months before it is even feasible.

01-29-2012, 04:51 PM
56 is really nice in a wetsuit. Water was 47 last time i was out and even with a 4/3 it wasnt bad. What's this freeze ride btw?

01-29-2012, 05:28 PM
Man I want to go so bad, I think that I am going to have to make it happen.

In WI we have 4 months before it is even feasible.

I have a feeling I will be out in April sometime, but I likely won't wakeboard until the water temp gets to the mid 50s. The guy I go with is very dedicated, he will be out there in a drysuit as soon as he can. In fall, I think he winterized his boat a week or two before Thanksgiving.

01-29-2012, 05:39 PM
Last 2 weekends I took folks from the boat show out for demos. Don't know if that was good or bad. It was great to get out on the water but kinda sucked that it was too cold (at least for me) to get in. Actually, if the wind wasn't whipping so hard, I might have squeezed into the wetsuit and gotten in a run or two.

01-29-2012, 06:54 PM
Man Im Jonesing so bad to get on the water.......Im buying a Drtsuit by the time summer ends, come HELL or low water....Yes I said Low water.....we still need rain snow or something.....

01-29-2012, 10:29 PM
What's this freeze ride btw?

down here in the Houston area we have this group/organization called the gulf coast wake association or GCWA for short. We have a website and message board at www.gcwa.com and we do events every year. Usually one in the spring, one in the fall and one in the winter plus other things randomly. Most events take place at bethy creek resort. We have a annual ride in feb called the freeze ride

Ryan two years ago we started April 1st, last year was rough though and we didn't get an early start at all. Would you have any interest in heading to Brostock?

Have you been there before? I would consider it, kind of depends how the next few months ago. I will be due for a vacation, but it's hard to say what I will be up to come summer. Looks like a big party and a lot of fun though.

01-30-2012, 12:09 PM
I have been both years it was in Arkansas. It is a good time and has had some great water for personal riding. I enjoyed the days leading up to the event more than the event itself. The 3 or 4 days before there are wakeboats everywhere and everyone doing their own thing. It's fun to watch. We also got to watch some of the pros free ride.

The event is hard to see but it's fun. The first year we were tied up in what I would call family friendly zone. The second year, not so much. You can get a good feel of what you are pulling up to ahead of time, though.

Nice pics!! Hope they go to BULL Shoals again.....Not enough Beer though. !! Lets add 3 more 30 packs and Im in. LOL
Where did you guys stay at, Camping, cabin or hotel?

KG's Supra24
01-30-2012, 01:07 PM
We stayed at one of the best locations we could find last year. It was a cabin in the cove where the event takes place. It even had one of the few private boat docks.

The lady was a complete b**ch so I doubt we will rent it again but I don't know that she will rent it to anyone during the event next year. Here is a link to the one we stayed at.

01-30-2012, 04:06 PM

So, more fun year 1 or year 2?

I enjoyed the contest more the first year. The 2nd year we had the kids and tied up to a boat that was loaded with teenagers that probably had a combined IQ of a rock.

I enjoyed the trip more the second year, though. We went early in the week and got a few awesome days on the water before the event.

Either way, I enjoyed the time outside of the competition more than I did the competition both years. It's just fun to be sharing the riding spots with 20+ wakeboats and still getting good water.

Axis is now paired up with Liquid Force. What's the deal SC??

It also looks like it will be at Lake of the Ozarks.

01-31-2012, 01:59 PM
Uh...say whaaaaa!?!?!?!!

Wow...I'm out....bummer. Was looking forward to Bull Shoals again.

Our 3 year agreement ended this year. Our relationship with LF is still very positive and we wish them the best with this event and others.

Welp, that sucks ... for me anyways.

01-31-2012, 02:32 PM
You can still get a LF co-branded Moomba and I can tell you from experience that these deals hardly ever pay back what they cost you. Thanks for not re-upping the contract & therefore keeping my boat purchase price lower. :)

01-31-2012, 02:34 PM
Was looking forward to Bull Shoals again.

Same place usually means the same people. If you're spending your marketing $$ on en event, you want to get your brand in front of as many new people as possible.

01-31-2012, 03:04 PM

LF editions will continue to be available till July 31 as part of our agreement.

Andy and Mark, Have you guys seen the Exile boat bumpers? I want to buy a set before Brostock for my boat. They are cheaper if you buy 8, instead of 1 or 2. Either one of interested in getting 4. $15.00 a piece if you buy 8. It would be $67.26 each person shipped if we buy together. Take a look at them.

I am new to the moomba website but i been at the supra one for a while.
I am planing on going to brostock. Right now we have 4 couples going.
Not sure on the place we are staying at. Right now we have a house 8 miles up the lake from captain ron's.
But one of the guys going with us has an uncle with a condo next to captain rons. It is ours if his uncle does not go down that weekend. we are waiting on them to decide. I am hoping the condo comes through for us. Just thinking the 8 miles might be a rough drive in a wakeboat on saturday and sunday.

We plan on taking a gray Supra 242 or my orange 21v.

New Guy
04-27-2012, 11:16 AM
Jon we are staying at the Deepwater inn right next to Ron's. It should be a good time, my first time down at the Ozark's.

04-27-2012, 02:30 PM
Jon, I posted on the Supra site last month and no one else said they were going. 8 miles is a long ways on water, especially Brozarks! We are staying at 38 mile marker, not far from Rons. Mark is staying like a half mile from us.
Heres whose going so Far:

Picture for good measure.

The people that we hung around with we're awesome. The lake was really cool because there is tons to do. The wind and layout of the event were not desirable. People need to learn how to anchor when tied up with 20 other boats. All in all I would go back, but Brostock wouldn't have to be there.

New Guy
06-19-2012, 09:32 AM
Andy I completely agree from everyone that was at Bull Shoals the year before said that this was poorly organized ect. The winds for the event were brutal, actually they ended up splitting the winnings if you were in the finals because it was so rough. Either way we had an absolute blast and I'm looking forward to doing again next year. I have some pictures but my buddy has better ones:)

All in all I would go back, but Brostock wouldn't have to be there.

That is kind of how we felt. My favorite part of the event, last year, was just all the wakeboats being in one place and the atmosphere. The event itself is difficult to see and I never really knew what was going on.

Sounds like ya'll were tied up to get people, though, that can make or break the experience.

Keep the pics rolling in!

It really sucked to try and tie up because the winds were so bad, there were alot of wally's that had no idea what they were doing, ect. It sounded like in previous years you could tie off to the course buoys but this year they were only anchored with cinder blocks so everyone was trying to set their own anchors ect. All and in all it was an absolute blast. We booze cruised it on Sunday and headed to the famous party cove. Well that cove consisted of Rick and us, it was the best water that we found all week because it was no wake. We decided it was in our best interest to tear it up a bit.

Like I said the people and the party were a blast I just wish that the comp was better organized.

Is that really necessary to put a swastika and a star (I am assuming a Jewish star) written in sharpie marker on someone? I'm all for jokes but that's a little inappropriate, no? And in a visible place on his body no less.

06-20-2012, 04:26 PM
I'm sure it was all in good fun CnS

I was not there during the painting but he did look like quite the character after. CnS from the little bit I know of Rick, Andy and their crews it was not meant to be offensive.

06-20-2012, 05:17 PM
Relax, It was All in Fun. It was not a Jewish Star! I did not post the pic either! When you Assume......well you know the saying.
The were also wieneys and figures on him.....Just having fun. WOW!
We have all known eachother for several years. His Dad is one of my good friends. They were so faded from him trying to scrub them off, that you couldnt hardly see them.

No I am sure it was, so I may have come across the wrong way in my post. But what I was really trying to aim for I guess was the aftermath the next day or the day after when this guy is walking in public and people see a swastika and a jewish star on his leg. If it was something that was easily washable it's not so bad, but sharpie markers are hard to get off of skin.

So you can take a chill pill and your bold text isn't needed. Your idea of jokes and mine are different, enough said about the subject. Moving on..

You asked what was better. i would say by far Bull shoals for about everything.

I think it was a poor set up. My think with all the advertisement of a land/ water base this year it would have been right in front of Captain Ron’s but instead it was right of the man channel. You still need a boat to watch. We thought we would be able to go into Captain Ron’s and still get to see the comp.

The wind absolutely killed it. We were tied about 4 to 5 boat off the left side of the house boats and spent most of the day watching our boat. A lot of boats did not have anchors we had 3 off the back of our boat but we had 4 boats around us without anchors. and the officals on jet ski kept moving the line of boats around witch screw things for everyone. For the riders the tricks were a lot bigger at bull shoals because a better set up and ideal conditions at bull shoals. The wind did not help but in ten trips of the last 4 years to bull shoals i have never had a bad time there for riding.

For the people watching there were just as many wakeboard boats and small boats down at bull shoals. The big boat (cigarette’s and house boats) did not tie up for the most part. They went by to Captain Ron’s and back out.

I went with a completely different group this year and the group I went with used it more like a weekend at the Ozarks. We just went to that area on saturday and watch the comp. and went back to our house. Everyone in my group wanted to drink and did not want to get in trouble. And Shorty Pants was walking distance from the house. So we did not stay for any of the land party.

ya i wish we could of meet up but the group did not want to go down there on friday.
And we were tied up 4 boats down from the house boat and we had a bunch a the Axis reps tied up next to use. along with State a mind Water sports the Axis rep for the area.
We were in a good spot and figure it would be to much of a problem to start moving around.

I hear you. We tried to try up there and they said that there wasn't any more room. Some of those guys were tools but oh well. Still had a blast and hopefully I can do it again next year.
