Everyone has the standard playlist with the big acts and new stuff that's on the radio all the time, but what's else do you rock? Those songs we haven't heard in years, and love.

Here are some of my favorotes to get us going;

Franz Ferdinand - No You Girls
Ok Go - Invincible, A Million Ways, Get Over It
The Violent Fems - Blister in the Sun

Mason Jennings - Ain't no Friend of Mine
Patrick Sweany - Them Shoes
Spin Doctors - Little Miss Cant Be Wrong
311 - All Mixed Up
The Black Crowds - Hard to Handle
RHCP - All Around The World, really any Chili Peppers is great
The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go
Faith No More - Epic
Dan Auerbach - Heartbroken, In Disrepair
The Offspring - Hit That, ComeOut And Play, Stuff is Messed Up, Self Esteem
Gn'R - All of Appetite for Destruction, Heavens Door
Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock

Billy Squire - Lonely is the Night
The Eagles - Life in the Fast Lane

Go!

The volume always gets cranked in the truck, on the boat or iPod when The Cult's Firewoman song makes the playlist.

Grace Potter - Medicine
Buckcherry - Lit up
Justin Moore - Backwoods
Augustana - Dust
Joe Walsh - Rocky Mountain Way
Eric Clapton - Cocaine and/or Layla

I can't think of the last time we played singles on the boat. use a lot of brianbass stuff. used beezo until it shut down and now use:
http://www.house-mixes.com/mixes/Latest/1/commercial-house

can't remember who on here turned me onto that, but already have 40hrs of music downloaded for the upcoming season. everything from top40/club to rap to some great old 80's mixes of both dance and rock..

just have to go through now and sort out the 18+ mixes for those times when there are kids at the dock next door..
don't want to have the parents next to us calling me "that guy" :)

With the exception of Clapton and Joe Walsh, we have very different taste in music, lol.

Mist about all of these get played regularly, except KISS - I cant get past my hatred of Gene Simmons to listen to their music.

Motley Crue, GnR, and Beastlie Boys are in every playlost I have though.

Hes a douche, and KISS songs are too cliche. I also hate Journey and U2. Im more about the music, not the show or the computers and front men.

As for wakebording music just about anything from Phoenix. Started listening to Metric. Select tracks from Flipsyde or The Naked and Famous, Slipknot, Skillet, Sixx AM, Gym Class Heroes, Kill Hannah.

For surfing it has to be Cary Bros, The Naked and Famous, Metric, and M83.

For floating, I just download mega-mixes off Mixcrate.

Here is a link to a playlist of a lot of the songs i've been listening to lately. A lot of them were found from wakeboard/mountain bike/ski videos that I like.

http://open.spotify.com/user/129165500/playlist/0L7IXG1Zaoe2ahPw04NVSr

If you don't have Spotify, it is pretty great (and free) to stream from your computer.

Glad I'm not the only one here that listens to good music.

Add some Pepper, The Expendables, Bfoundation, Part One Tribe, Echo Movement, Ashes of Babylon, Slightly Stoopid, Ballyhoo, The Movement, and Subrosa Union to that and you got my playlist.

doesn't really matter. what matters to me more is the content of the music. really, anyone can learn to mix music. just grab the source, match up the bpm's and with a little practice, viola-you're there :)

went through the list and only have more than one mix from 2 artists-djgeo and djmatch.. one is hiphop/bass and one is oldschool/metal..

The one band not listed that everyone should take time to listen to are The Black Keys. Dont start with their new album, listen to both of the 'Brothers' CDs. I bet everyone will add them in more this summer. Old sounding rock/blues. If you haven't heard of them listen to: I got mine; Tighten up; Strange Times, Thirteen.

I know I say this every time it comes up but I now feel it has become my duty.

I have yet to hear any mixed music that compares to GIRL TALK. The latest album "All Day" is 70 minutes long and made up of nearly 400 samples of music from the past 50 years.

There it is for free .... http://illegal-art.net/allday/
