Seeing all these posts of upgrades Audio parts makes me wanna spend some more over the winter too...........but........gonna stay diciplined and keep working towards to boat upgrade fund. Will have to buy a boat AND all the audio gear at the same time :)
Plus too many things on my list:
FASS or ADII fuel/air separator, shim kit, 5in exhaust, downpipe, airbags, transgo jr., rear headrest dvd, navigation, and tunes, & topper for the duramax this year :) :(

should not be a big deal as they should have the quick disconects. I have had my tower speakers both ways(same speakers)-fixed and quick disconect. lets just say i'll never ever have fixed speakers again and when I get another new boat it will have Exile

Looking good JM. You gotta get them cabins in man, i still havnt upgraded mine but im going to. There will be 3 pairs of SXTs for sale pretty soon on the forum.

@ Viking i was reading your list of goodies and thiking man that sure sounds like Diesel goodies LOL.

I was talking to Brian about trying the XM9s on my tower to see what they sounded like but the bad thing is with the larger mid bass, they would wash out my SXTQs on my Hybrid set up.

So my expectation is they will sounds really warm surfing if you have the Harpoon to turn the tweets down, other wise they will sound a bit warmer perhaps at 70ft distance but after i double amp my tower this spring i expect my tower to rock even more then it did last summer, 1800 watts to the top bar baby.

Well im not positive you would it all depends on how you like the sound while surfing. The XM7s have the same kind of switch in them its just a lot harder to get to. It does +3db 0db and -3db and it basically tones the horns down so if you have a tower like Malibu where the speakers are essentially in the middle of the boat, it dont kill your rear seat passengers, if kinda makes it start throwing the sound later. Kinda like a dead zone right in front of the speaker.

The XM9s are basically the exact same thing as the XM7s there just larger. So i would think they operate the exact same as the XM7s.

You will have to get them hooked up but i know when i ran 4 XM7s if you turned the tower any more the 50% up the tweets were killing your ears. So the Throttle box allowed me to turn just the Horns down and keep the mid bass sound. It worked really well but the SXTQs are much much nicer for Surfing.

Like i said i havnt rally played to much with the XM9s so im not as in the know as i am the XM7s or SXTQs

Maybe I'm not going to run Harpoons? Maybe I am lol.

Right now were running the Harpoon at 1.3 ohm. 800.4 at 2ohm 2channels and 4ohm 2cgannels and 2500.1 at 1 ohm.
This year it's going to be bigger and going to 4 amps. Will be lots of new stuff. I don't want to derail the thread. Once I et my boat into the Exile shop next month I'll start 3 threads.

2 new ballast thread as I'm gutting that too.
3 classified add for all the gear I'm selling

Exile - can't wait to hit the lake next weekend if the weather permits (I've only listen to it while installing or putting next to my home theater during testing)- I loved the bass they produced.

From swim deck to install. Sound is amazing as I replaced the kicker amp with two exiles and powered the speakers up a notch.
