Too much optimism in this thread. It's only December.

107 days from today is my realistic goal. If I am lucky, it will be about 90 days!

Too late... got the battery on the trickle, and the freeze plugs in a baggie in a cup holder. I'm a bit of a fair weather Charlie.

Do you go to Allen, or the one in Ft. Worth?

Awesome! Cable is supposed to help your boat riding a bunch too from what I hear. I know it's tough to get a boat crew together over the winter I'm just luck my brother is as obsessed as I am. I need to go check out hydrous one of these days. When do you normally go there? Weekdays? Weekend?

I have been going on Saturday (to Hydrous in Allen) and I get there at straight up noon. So far, there have been no more than 10 peeps due to the season.I dont plan on going really at all once it warms up. After the new year, I plan on going on Wednesdays during lunch. Def let me know if you make it up here.

I really think it will help boat riding, the speed is slower, and confidence is higher. I have progressed decently, but I feel like I am getting a little stale and not pushing myself now. I really want to ride doubles with one of the pros and get some points so that my game behind the boat improves.

I can see how it would help riding behind the boat, especially if you have become static behind the boat like me.

If you're feeling stale go take a lesson. I've been doing lessons with brain sasser at texas mastercraft and it has helped my riding so much. I have "the book" dvds and thought that was all the coaching I needed but it is really worth the money if you're trying to progress. You may not nail everything he tries to teach you during your lesson but as you're leaving he will let you know what you need to concentrate on to nail whatever new things you were working on.

I might be able to make it up there one wednesday I just need to get some new boots my current ones are out of commission.

I had seen you post on lessons one other time. I may consider it, the local dealer here does lessons and one of their guys was/is sponsored for a little while i think. I can work a trick up in my mind but when I get out there I'm quickly content to just ride.

I've only been to the park once with Dusty but it was a lot of fun. It isn't the same as a boat but I can see how it would be helpful.

I think just being there doing a lesson gets your mind right to try something new. I will think about a new trick all night before I go out in the morning and then puss out because it's easy to when you're with your normal crew. When you're doing a lesson and you paid the money I feel like it is a lot harder to puss out. It kinda forces you outside your comfort zone.

Thats what I need to look into at the cable. I get behind the boat and just wimp out, and I'm sick of it. I just hope cable progress really transitions to boat
