I am down with going to broken bow and chilling with everyone but I would have to verify with the queen first and needless to say when I brought up the idea of broken bow a few weeks ago she didnt sound too excited. I think it looks real pretty up there from the pictures I have seen of Dusty and KGs trips. Broken bow at the beginning of summer and then the Texas Moomba jam at Bethy Creek at the end of the summer....

How about we just meet at granbury instead of broken bow. So much closer for us and I feel it's a fair compromise over broken bow. And we can ride the Brazos river! Or some place in the dfw area would work too!

OK, now let me tell yall how to handle the wife situ. Do like Dusty Chad and I did what 2-yrs ago. We set up a Supra reunion invited 5-6 other boats for a 4 day weekend trip camping with complete strangers and then took all of our wifes to dinner and said, honey you will be camping with all of these people NEXT weekend. Damn we got game!! And Im all over a river trip (yes Im inviting myself) my boat was broke-in there. Its my favorite place but I live too far away now. And Dusty you think Broken bow is good? You will not be disappointed. Sandy shore so any wakes are washed out, pleanty of cliffs for wind blockage, nice and long so you can find your own spot. Water ski magazine and other mags put it in there Top-10 list everytime I see one. Except they call it by the secret name (snake river) I think. Im dreaming about it already. Hows the water level right now?? Also Audrey and Corey live down there (2010 blu/blk- Mooba) Im sure they would meet us too. Jet

You're thinking of the hamm creek area of the brazos which I think is better than the tin top area by granbury where I usually ride. Hamm creek is down something like 15 feet and tin top is down 5 feet. I'm lucky because I live 30 mins from tin top and 45 mins from hamm creek. Hamm creek would be an awesome place for a get together if the water come up this winter.

KG, six is not so long.......Look how long it will take Mike M.- 2,018 mi, That only 1 day 11 hours of driving. Piece of Cake...You can Do it Mike..............Sounds Like Moomba Tx Jam to me. 10 Moombas and Spupras would be cool. 50 would be even better!

Dave give me heads up On this years Moomba Jam I want to help get more people there from other states.

Hamm's was my fav spot to put in. It would save me gas since there is no gas stations down there. If I put in at the bridge I would burn up a 1/4 of a tank getting there and some times I would limp back at 2-mph jusy to make sure I made it. lol. My fam has a lake house in granbury N of town but I hardly go out there, no good places to wakeboard and a long drive out to Tin-Top. I do like tin-top out past the party places, pretty nice water but a half of tank of gas for me to drive the boat there so I may as well drive it over there. Hamms would be great to meet there, just watch out for the Rio Vista police ticket machines. They know me by name. lol. KG your place soon also..I missed that trip. Jet

Jet, we are going to kg's for memorial day. Start planning!

Ok well Brandon it sounds like you know all the good places on the Brazos so keep us informed on levels. Also, if you know of any good water front lodging for people to stay at that would be useful information.

I was thinking this trip would be a sepperate trip than the Texas reunion. I was still planning on Having that towards the end of the summer at Bethy Creek again. I figured the Brazos/granbury get together could be toward late spring early summer and I bet Cory and Audrey would come.

can someone provide a map link of some kind for these locations

dusty2221
12-22-2011, 06:41 PM
Here, check this map out. The only spot I am unsure about since I have never been is the exact spot of the Granbury/Brazos area. The others should be pretty accurate to give you an idea of the spread. We will be up in AR with KG on Memorial, we will be in BB for a week in July (whatever week the 19th is). We go to BB alot and meetup with KG though.

We would be down for a trip to the river, hopefully the water will be up in the spring. We have stayed at Indian Lodge before, that's a good place if you can get reservations in time.

The granbury/tin top part of the brazos is a killer place to ride but there really isn't much for lodging on or near the river. The hamm creek part of the brazos north of lake whitney is in my book slightly better than tin top as there is hardly any houses on it and it's a bit deeper when lake whitney is full, this section of the river also has the indian lodge and hamm creek campground which is very nice. The only downside is it is 15 feet low right now and may not recover by spring/summer whereas tin top is 5 feet low and coming up slowly. Another option on the brazos is the brazos in waco as I'm pretty sure it may be constant level. I've never been there but I know you da man (AJ) has, also I'm not sure about lodging there either.

Heck, Bethy creek resort on the trinity river has plenty of lodging and choices of rooms, tent camping, or rv camping. They also have a dock for about 10 or 12 boats and a cable park. The dock and boat ramp at the resort are useless if the water levels falls more than about a foot or two but there is a public boat ramp right on the river about 5 miles from the resort that is good for 6-7 feet low. And the river is on its way back up too.
