one thing that is really growing on me is the simplisity of the dash, everything looks easy to see and read, especially the trim plate gauge. Looks like there is a little spot to the right for stuff to sit on and not fall off.

Looks good.

I will have to say the same thing about this one I did about the blue one. the graphics are much better without the mojo name plastered on it like the test mule. boat really looks nice..

want to see one in person(come on idaho watersports) but until I have to say:

-love to see some different rims on the trailer. cosmetic and petty I know, but some nicer rims would complete the towing package :)
-not a fan of the glovebox sticking up on the pass. side. I like the flat look so you can see over it.
-this is the first upclose shot I have seen of the dash. I really like the simple dials. everything you need is big and the rest really blend in, however I'm not sure I like the overall shape. kind of "blocky". want to see one in person and sit behind it, but skiers did score on the simple dials. my friends sanger has the same setup and it looks much cleaner than a dash full of gauges.. more importantly, it's not a digital touchscreen so you won't be out a second mortgage if something does need repaired as these boats get a few thousand hours on them.

rdlangston13
12-08-2011, 10:08 AM
I think the dash is the worst part of this boat so far. the gauges are too vertical and it is very very boxy. and the still have not moved the location of the ballast switches to the dash. the glove box is one item i really like, my mobius has a flat glove box and you can hardly fit anything in their, my buddy has an axis a20 with a big glove box like the mojo and you can fit dang near anything you want. when we have 6 people out it is not hard to stash everyones wallet, phone, camera, hats ect in there.

Trailer rims can be easily swapped out for an aftermarket set if that is something the buyer is looking for. Many people in our area only trailer their boats a few times per season so investing in a more expensive trailer isn't high on their priority list.

The ballast switches appear to the three right most switches on the dash...

I really don't give a crap what the trailer looks like. If it is functional and in good repair that is all that is needed. I'd rather spend the money on the boat or the kids college fund. I'd rather get a new Strat than drop 2K on wheels... The trailer does absolutely nothing for me but transport the boat. If it has crummy stock wheels and looks boring in the parking lot then so be it...

I saw the mojo at the dealer in lewisville laast week and I'm going up there in an hour or so to pick up the boat. The vinyl is of much better quality and the foam is more plush in the seats but this goes for all the 2012's the dealer had. This boat is big and tall on the trailer. If anybody wants some specific pics let me know and I will take them while I'm there so long as you get your requests in in the next hour or two.

Ok so the pics didn't turn out too great cause the boat was sitting right by the window and made a bad glare also I was using my blackberry. I forgot to get the pics of the dash switches and i didn't get a chance to take the tower down but standing on the ground with the boat on the trailer the windshield was either right at or higher than 7ft. That boat sits really tall on the trailer! Sitting at the helm had a weird feel compared to my LSV which felt more like sitting in a cockpit and the mojo felt more like a center console boat. Another wierd thing was when sitting in the drivers seat holding the steering wheel it felt like the wheels was a little bit off to the left of the center of my body instead of centered. The storage is much deeper when compared to the LSV and the cooler is huge which you wil see in the pics. The area under the observers seat is more wide open as the battery has its own compartment which you will also see in the pics. I also did not see the amp for the stock sound system under there which i didnt think about until I looked at the pics. The sunpad seemed to be a little shorter on the mojo than my lsv but it is so deep that I believe you could fit a 750sac ineach of the back compartments and possibly a 1100 but I don't have one so I'm not sure how big they really are. Photobucket keeps taking me to their mobile site for some reason and is not letting me upload the pics but I will get them up asap.

These 2 are of the battery compartment which is just back from the observers compartment and the battery switch is on the wall at the rear of the observers compartment, basically right on the otherside of the wall on the right side of the battery from the way you are looking at the pic of the battery.

wolfeman131
12-13-2011, 10:24 AM
I think that is the point of the pickle fork - to provide more room in the bow. It's in the beam, not the length. I really like the way Moomba has gone in-between with this design. It's more of a spork where it comes to a point like a traditional boat, but it's wide & a bit flattened like a pickle fork.

It's hard to have a wide bow area with a traditional bow if the beam is under 102". Centurion has a roomy new Enzo that's 20'8" with a wide traditional bow. I think of all boat manufacturers with huge traditional bows, Centurion hit a homerun with the Enzo Plus series. Moomba I think hit a triple, not quite a homerun, with the Mojo when it comes to bow space while trying to keep a more traditional look and not follow the heard into a true picklefork model

Has potential to be a clean surf wake but needs "real" moomba owners to play with the surf setup instead of salesmen (most of which do not own a boat...just saying). I know if Hunter is still at SAM he's got experience with the XLV and LSV surf setup. However, Rick...set up something for myself and Jason (aka: Jpetty) to bring our fat sacs down to SAM and have a couple hours with the Mojo and we'll post all kinds of ballast configurations and I'll throw on the drysuit to give the wake some scale with a rider.

I'm game for sac'in it out!! For some reason thou I think they are following the 20 hour break in procedure therefore, we have no real world pics yet. That 20 hour break in has been discussed plenty here regarding if it is necessary or not but I'm sure from the dealer's stand point they don't want to let us occupy it with under 20 hours.

But of course they could let us sac it out, throw up the pics of said sac'd out mojo, and then sell it to me at a discounted price as a "demo model". How bout it boys?

The fact that this boat has already been in the water makes it "used" or a demo already but I'm sure they may have planned for that.

So a demo boat with let's just say 20, 50, or 70 hours is a "new" boat just because it hasn't been titled? Then why do dealers label demo boats as a "demo" and not "new"? Just asking because I'd pissed if I was told the boat was new and looked down and saw more than 1 hour on it for testing.

I'm sure they do but demo hours vs test time is not the same in my opinion when considering a boat "new". My Moomba bought new had under an hour.

They are labeled demo because they have been used by the dealer throughout the summer. It is the same way with a car dealership. If you buy a demo, it is still considered new since it has not been titled. Being considered new gets you all the same treatments (biggest being warranty, also probably financing) as a new boat purchase, just has some hours (or miles) on it.

I figured all that. I'd be comfortable buying a new car with a couple hundred miles as "new". However, a boat with a recommended break in period/intervals that I'd want to do myself is a whole other issue with a boat that already has dozen of hours.

KG's Supra24
01-06-2012, 05:48 PM
When I say demo car, I'm not talking a couple hundred miles. I'm talking 3,000 to 7,500 miles. Id assume a demo boat is going to have over 20 hours. Our local dealer is selling their demo boat from last year. They advertise it as having "less than 100 hours"

When I say demo car, I'm not talking a couple hundred miles. I'm talking 3,000 to 7,500 miles. Id assume a demo boat is going to have over 20 hours. Our local dealer is selling their demo boat from last year. They advertise it as having "less than 100 hours"

I know what you mean by demo car mileage but even a non-demo car with a few hundred miles of test driving I'd be cool with as "new".

My boat had 1 hour on it when I bought it. Before I bought I did want to test drive the 2010 Outback V so we took one out for test drive, a very nice one with a black gelcoat. Identical to my boat in every respect except gelcoat and vinyl accent colors. Ran it up at WOT, ran it around with full ballast, gave it a fair workout and were happy with the performance. After the test drive we put the down payment on the one with Blue gelcoat. I didn't want to test drive the boat I bought because I wanted to follow break in to the letter and running it WOT and with full ballast wasn't part of the break in procedure, so we test drove a similar boat. I am not sure what, if any, issues might arise from not following the break in procedure but I didn't want to chance it. On the other hand if the boat that had 20+ hours on it came at a decent discount from the boat with 1 hour on it I could be swayed I suppose.
