Tomorrow I'm scheduled to have knee surgery on my left knee again. I've already has a meniscus repair and then micro-fracture surgery last year. Tomorrow is the OATS surgery. For those not familiar with OATS basically the surgeon goes into a non weight bearing portion of my knee and harvests good cartridge to transplant to the front part of my knee where the cartridge has been torn and since disappeared.

Doc said on crutches and non weight bearing for 6-8 weeks as long as all goes well. This is my third surgery and both operations before this the doc discovered the injury was worst than what The MRI showed so we'll see how the third goes. Keeping my fingers crossed for a quick recovery this time around!

I guess the 6 years of Marine Corp infantry and the last 11 years as a SWAT cop has started to take its wear and tear on this old body.

Least I'm down during the winter season!!

Good luck! My surgery was 1.5 years ago and aside from 6 months of PT and now having to wear a brace for sports, I'm back to "normal" (as if I ever was!)

Nope, I had ACL, PCL replacement, and MCL LCL meniscus restoration, lol

Yea, Jason, all kidding aside. Hope all goes well with the surgery and you make a quick and full recovery. Please keep us posted. I have similar issues in both knees. There's just no cartilage left up front and my patellar grooves are just destroyed.

We can sit at the boat storage, listen to tunes, and drink beer. Hit me up if you need help with the boat during recovery

Thanks for all the well wishes moomba maniacs. Surgery went well and I'm trying to stay comfortable. Doc has me in a zero flex brace right now until my 2 week follow up. It's a bit of a pain in the arse not being able to bend or stretch this thing out. I'm in a pretty good amount of pain but the meds help a little. Been in pain for long time so it's really nothing new but hopefully this silly procedure will help with that.

This is my first off season with the moomba forum This being one of my favorite forums that I belong to, i hope we still have some good chatter back and forth!!
