so far

Redid my fill system for the surf bag-I had 4 tsunami 800gph pumps working off 2 switchs filling the one bag--was ugly but worked. So I got rid of the 4 pumps and went with 2 1200gph tusnamis working off one switch. Much cleaner and simpler. 4 pumps for sale soon.

Removed some white stripeing I had added to the side of the boat a couple years ago, so I'm back to solid blue sides.

Now its stereo time

What a mess!

My first attempt at adding to the factory system resulted in mess of wiring that looking like Medusa's hair

I have allready swapped out the tower speakers for the quick release style Exile surf speakers, that were powered by a 800 Exile amp.

Wife is getting my a Harpoon amp for Christmas (its allready here ) just have to wait till Christmas day to unwrap it.

Plan is to now power the tower with the Harpoon and the incabins with the 800.

And clean up the cubby

Stay tuned...

Gotta give a huge Thanks to Mike Mandley for his help.

How many tower speakers do you have?

What is that kicker thing laying on the seat?

Is that an exile sub too? Man, I guess I didn't realize you were exiled out.

OK, there is NO WAY that install is going to go correctly! I saw a coozie in the background, but it was void of beer. Get that fixed and you should be good to go.

Also, I like to pull this trick w/ the wife's Christmas presents. I use, wear, eat what she has bought and have her wrap the empty box.

Another thing-- your tools and stuff are way too organized. You'll never get anything done unless you let it get a little messy in there.

KG, I believe that thingamabob is a Kicker dual zone control.

That makes sense looking at the cords ... I was wondering if it was one of those new products Kicker had out.

anybody know is the 800 and harpoon physically the same size?

reason for asking is thinking about placement on the board

I removed the back wall to make it easier to mount them-plan on putting the harpoon on top

Daze, go back to my install thread, the main track has a harpoon on top and 800.4 on bottom so you can get an idea.

that wont exactly make the wife happy, but Im really looking forward the incabin's change, before i was pushing the 6 speakers with the stock Kicker 200, now they will be powered by the 800. Hopefully it will be worth it.

Minor league nothing! You will love upgrading the in boats to be on the 800.4 man. I fell in love with the 800.4 and 65c sound....you will not be disappointed.

Glad the pic helped. Let me know if you need anything else!

You have a custom bag or some fancy plumbing for that?? I be curious.

If I go with custom bags in the rear, per my wish list, I'm thinking about doing 2 fill ports and 2 drain ports on each one just in case. I'm wondering how you were plumbed with 4 pumps on one bag though?

Oh and good luck with the Christmas plan - hopefully when the dust settles you'll still be happily married. Or at least married! LOL

normal bag with the single fill and empty ports.

fancy plumbing-lol--redneck style. 2 pumps into one line , both lines then went to a single line to the bag. now its just 2 pumps into one line, its all 1" hose

David, from the factory they had a fuse block for the amp mounted there, so I just used the same lenght screws and hoped for the best. If you look carfully you'll see its quite thick there as there is some reinforced panel under the carpet, that goes back undet the seats till the curve under the passenger seat. I thought it was a great location to mount the one amp and batery charger out of the way.

Looking good Daze. Make sure you use 3" screws for mounting stuff to the walkway wall. lol

Man you will love the upgraded power to your interiors and towers. I'm betting you will be doing the sub next year to catch up to the rest of the equipment.

I've mounted plenty there before np. There's a piece of 3/4" plywood glassed into the structure for rigidity the best I can tell. When i re-did mine I made and carpeted a panel that fits that space and mounted it to the wall 1/2" off. I then mounted all my goodies to the panel, minimized drilling there and worked well.

Yep, echo what they said. It can be done.

My first year I mounted 2 amps directly to the wall. This past year we (Dusty and I, mostly Dusty) rigged up a panel like Razz and then we mounted it to the wall.

Look next to the 800.4 on my main rack. To the left is a fused distro block. Each amp is independently fused.

If you already have non-fused distro block(s) you may consider going with circuit breakers instead. See Raz's example. I went that route. If by chance it ever pops there's no disassembly require to get a new fuse put in there. (moving gear, people, etc) Just reset and go.

KG's Supra24

You can also incorporate the circuit breaker in as well. Our circuit breaker runs all the controls at the driver. I don't know exactly how it all plays out if something were to go wrong to be honest. You can see the breaker in both our pics .. far right on the right (walk thru) amp rack.

E4Nash, the top two are JL G1300's (for sale in the classifieds). The bottom one is JL G4500. The one on the other rack is an Alpine.

One of the most important things to remember regardless of which method you use is to make sure your getting ample power to the amps. I'm using the Tsunami fused block as well for the amps (3), the breakers are for my ACR (2 lower) and Inverter (1 top).

Notice i'm running 1/0 power cable to the input (top) of the Tsunami fused distro block and 4ga out (bottom) to the amps. I'm running all of this off of one Dekka Marine group 27 agm battery. As of yet i've been unable to drain the battery down where it won't play, but then I don't sit for hours on end cranking the tunes while floating.

From your pics it looks like you've got 2ga cable and I assume that's for power to the stereo? How many amps total? If your running two amps then that's fine, with three I'd up the gauge on that. It also looks like you have 8ga cable there for the amps? I would up that to 4ga for maximum power transfer, you'll lose less juice getting to the amps. Just my personal preferences to ensure everything has enough power.

Razz, I dont get to listen to the stereo at high volume for very long at all-maybe one song or two, wife really doesnt like loud music, we dont have a party cove and never sit and just listen to music and I had no issues for the last season so I think I will stick to the wires I allready have unless it really makes a difference or is a safety issue.
