I am having a little trouble getting a REALLY good Ollie on my wakeskate. Before I dig into it, let me preface by saying I can do the Ollies from Hades on a wakeboard. But that is easy since I am bound in. I have checked and re-checked my technique through video and everything else and all looks ok. I am consistent but just not getting the height I would like on the Ollie. I am getting only 3-6 inches of height and know I can take it higher.
If anyone here can do Ollies on a wakeskate I am interested in your thoughts. First I am riding a Hyperlite Nomad Catalyst 41. My standard technique is I pop the front which begins the lift. I then push on the back foot to continue the board rise, then follow up by lifting the back foot and pressing down on the front foot to stay on the board. I believe my problem stems from the back foot. I don't think I am pressing hard enough to lift the board higher. I believe that comes from the fact that on a wakeboard I can lift on the bindings, a luxury I don't have on the wakeskate. How hard do you normally push on the back foot to lift the front? The wakeboard is easy because I am bound in. I can routinely pop 2 feet or more on an Ollie on a wakeboard, so I have the basics, I just can't seem to make it pan out to the wakeskate. Any thoughts?
Sorry for our northern skiers, we are still riding down here. Rode for 6 hours on the St John's River Sun! ;-)
